They use american cheese on their chile rellenos! Their overall service was good, but their food was so americanized! I do not recommend this place to anyone

This restaurant has been in old town La Quinta for years. Just real good Mexican-American food. We particularly the fajitas and chili verde. The outside patio is spacious and a side dining room works well when there's an overflow crowd. The staff is attentive, service is speedy and the bill is reasonable. What more could you ask.

It was ok but not up to par with the other El Ranchito restaurants around. Good enough and the service was friendly and prices were reasonable.

We always stop for lunch here on our way to stay at The Quinta Resort. The guys go off to play golf and we go directly to the pool. We love to start our weekend away with a delicious margarita and a mexican feast before we start having drinks by/in the pool..=)

My wife and I live in Dallas and we love authentic Mexican food. El Ranchito was outstanding. The fresh home made salsa was the start. I enjoyed my Carne Asada. My wife thought the Carnitas were the best she has ever eaten. We are only here for three days but we will go back before we go home.

building was built in 1937! located off the beaten path in Old Laquinta. Good food, with some interesting sauces. The serving sizes were ample and we left feeling very full. I had the enchiladas in a green creme sauze and my wife had the taco salad. She loved her strawberry

Great neighborhood mexican place! Good for eating there and for take out. If you do take out and want chips it is expensive $6.00, a bag of great chips and a container of salsa fresca!

We were searching for a lunch time spot to get out of the heat in La Quinta and stumbled upon El Ranchito. Good move on our part! Every time I find an "El Ranchito" I feel I have to give it a try. Some are worth it and some are not. El Ranchito in La Quinta is definitely worth it.... More

We were originally searching for a Mexican place we went to in Old Town LQ on a previous visit, but it was gone/closed. This is a little hole-in-the-wall place, family run it seems, and had really good beans. The portions were rather skimpy, though, and very pricey. $9.95 for enchilada and beans... the quesadilla was ridiculously small too and I... More

This place can be a little hard to find in Old La Quinta town if your are a visitor, but it's worth seeking out. My fiance used to dine here a lot when he lived in the area, and wanted to take me there when we made a return visit to Palm Desert. I had the carnitas which were the... More
