Sandbar is a classic, a 1950's-60's drinking and eating place. Popular with the "more experienced" crowd in La Quinta, it also has a fair share of the 25-40 year old group in. And all are there because it is a great place to eat and drink. There is a certain ambiance to places like this... nostalgia for the simpler times.... More

We have eaten here at least four times over the last two years. Wonderful food, friendly staff. I recommend eating in the bar so you can enjoy the live entertainment. You expect Bing Crosby to walk in a have a seat at the bar.

What a delightful evening! It had been 25 years since we had enjoyed a Cunards dinner back in our dating days. Nostalgically, the menu hadn't changed much if at all. Even the staff seemed the same, completely charming. If you want a true Palm Springs area experience, this is the place. Don't expect haute cuisine, but order something comfortable, enjoy... More

This restaurant has been in the same locations with the same owners forever. It is filled with regulars who go for the delicious food and the piano player. Reosonable prices and friendly hosts top our a wonderful combination. Soup or salad included with entrée' priced in the 20"s.

Old time owners with good service and food choices. Spendy for sure but worth at least one visit, you will enjoy the location and great service.

What a fun place for a Friday night cocktail at the bar. Piano playing starts early and it's a lively group! We just sat at the bar for an appetizer - the rice paper covered shrimp tempura were fabulous - but they have tables in the bar to eat a full dinner also. It was packed but there were tables... More

If you are tired of large corporate restaurants with no personality, then give the Sandbar a try. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was jovial and the food was good. We sat in the piano bar and by the end of the evening knew the piano player by name and were sharing stories with other guests. The music is reminiscent... More

Locals always know the best places to go so we were delighted to be taken here for dinner. The food was excellent, the server most professional and the atmosphere warm and intimate. We're so glad our friends introduced us to this La Quinta gem.

If you are under 40 years old you won't even know what I'm talking about. This is a senior "Cheers". It reminded me of a supper club with the waitresses like my mom, chicken and dumplings as a special and the piano player, The food is just okay but you'll be entertained by the crowd. It is noisy as everyone... More

Having visited many times last year was very disappointed on our visit this time. The food was average at best, and poor at worst .The salmon and short ribs were both drowned in heavy sauces and tasteless .Service was just okay, with plates cleared before everyone had finished. This is a pet peeve- no plates should be cleared before everyone at the table...
