excellent food, ordinary setting

The advertise the best food from Culiacan...they may be right. The food is excellent with good portion sizes and quick service. The setting is nothing special at all but it's comfortable and, for this gringo, I like it that virtually every other diner was a latino. To my mind that's always a... read more

Best Mexican food. If you want to eat real Mexican food, not Americanized Mexican food. The food taste great!, the service is not so good, but it's worth the wait.

We really should have left when we had to pick the least dirty table to sit at for dinner. Not only were tables full of dirty plates, but the tables that did have the plates cleared had food all over them. In addition to that, there was food all over the floor. The food was okay, but we won't return... More

They also have excellent chavelas!

This place is a regular spot for us. The food is a bit different that typical Mexican fare as it has a Guatemalan influence. The Tacos Dorados comes with a side of 'Mexican Au Jus' (for lack of a better term) and it is tasty. The Papa Sincronizada is incredible but filling so be careful with that one. The service can... A friend and I had lunch here I early March. We each ordered carne asada dishes off of the ala carte menu, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Contrary to some of the other reviews on this site, I found the carne asada to be excellent. It was tender and very flavorful, and there was no gristle or fat at all.... More

This was our first time at this restaurant. We had a good feeling when we were the only gringos in the place...families and couples all around us. As the first time trying them, we really didn't know how to order...so this is what we did. We each wanted to try the shrimp ceviche. And then we each ordered 2 ala... More

Don't pass up this restaurant unless you have to have the carne asada (yes it was horrid) because the garlic shrimp was truly amazing. Shrimp was sweet and perfectly cooked with loads of garlic that didn't over power the shrimp. Inexpensive and delicious.

We were very disappointed in our meal. The carne asada was a terrible quality--it had more gristle than meat. The cheese used in the Chili Relleno was grainy and didn't melt. Finally, when we attempted to pay by credit card they couldn't print a receipt for us. All in all we would not go back.
