Small, classy yet casual

Four of us visited for lunch. We were able to get an outside table so could watch the people walking along Old Town Main Street. The diners are provided cloth napkins - that tells you something. Came here with friends last Sunday. I had an appetizer and scallop/prawn entree. Both were good but the pace of service was unusually slow. La Quinta is very seasonal and the busy season can put pressure on restaurant staff. This is likely the cause of slowness.

I recently had the opportunity to have both lunch and dinner at Solano's, and was equally pleased on both visits. Solano's has a varied and well-priced menu, with something to appeal to almost everyone. The food was fresh, well seasoned, and delicious, and the service on both my visits was excellent. They have a pleasant outside patio, but the interior... More

Really delicious and fresh food. The service was very good. I would definitely return for a second meal.

Arrived for Happy Hour to a busy environment. Service was indifferent and slow; food arrived luke warm delivered by a different male server with an attitude (clearly NOT happy) who placed ( more like threw) our order on the table and took off. So much for "Happy Hour" !!

My wife and I dined on February 28 to celebrate my birthday. We made a reservation on line as the restaurant is very popular. Our waiter, Francisco, was very professional and explained the menu specials etc. We both chose a very tasty tomato/basil bisque followed by an excellently prepared sea bass in a delicious savoury sauce. The wine list is... More

Solanos has been a go to restaurant, last night was a real disappointment. Our table was not ready at reserved time, we waited for half an hour for the table to clear with no explination. Once ready the management offered a free appetizer to the table, nice gesture. Our server was great, timely service, easily handled special request. The problem... More

We had been to this restaurant once before and had an enjoyable evening. On the second occasion we were kept waiting nearly 20 minutes despite having a reservation. The food wasn't as enjoyable as on the first occasion, although I accept that may have been because of the choices we made. I would not recommend people avoid this place and... More

....and the service on the patio left a lot to be desired. Our waitress was average at best, very disappointing. Good buzz, but there are other restaurants in La Quinta which have good food and service.
