Awesome early dining

After a day of hiking in the desert and we were really hungry and wanted to eat early and the Cliffhouse delivered. Excellent waitstaff that anticipated all our needs. They split the bleep beat salad without asking which incidentally was very fresh and good. Of course the stuffed artichoke is a... read more

We have eaten at the Cliffhouse a number of times over the years and enjoyed our experiences but it no longer measures up to its reputation. The service was terrible and we did not enjoy the food. It was a special occasion and we were very upsetting to find it such a poor experience.

The Cliffhouse is a wonderful restaurant with good food and great atmosphere. We have been coming here over the years on our visits to the desert and it never disappoints.

Some local friends of mine took me for a late Thursday Happy Hour, which included delicious top shelf Margaritas and some of the best Fish Tacos I have ever eaten (and I live at the beach)! The entire menu looked delicious and the venue was not only interesting, but uniquely La Quinta. It is a "Must Eat!" P.S. Taxis are... More

We enjoyed Happy Hour here recently. The location offers views of the Santa Rosa Mountains in a building nestled into a boulder cliff. If you sit on their patio, you will be surrounded by the massive granite boulders. Our happy hour appetizers included Ahi Tuna Tartare with Citrus Ponzu sauce, Crispy Calamari with a jalapeno butter milk aïoli, and Panko... More

Reservations are a must. Very interesting architecture with a variety of seating areas. Valet Parking. The place was noisy; probably because everyone was having a good time. I had the seafood fettuccine. Their oysters on the half shell were amazing. My Bro-in-law who is a chef was impressed. Our group of six had a variety of tastes and everyone was... More

We revisited one of our favorite Happy-Hour spots in La Quinta on a Monday night. We arrived at 5:30 PM and were shown to the last outside table. We wanted a light meal so my scallop appetizers smothered in cheese and a fresh green salad were perfect, along with a glass of wine. My companion chose wine, salad, and a... More

Great view of the sunset over the mountains from the main dinning room. Very different small patio with rock wall and waterfall. Ambiance superb. Seems this is sister restaurant to Pacifica and has similar menu, some identical items. Food is hit and miss. I had ahi tuna appetizer and it was fresh and tasty. Also had daily special veal chop... It's a pretty unique building built into a rock cliff. We stopped one evening for an early dinner and seated in the bar for Happy Hour! A couple of MaiTai's later, my father ordered a burger and I the Ahi Tuna Sandwich from the bar menu, which was as good as any I've ever had! The bar was filling up... More

First time at the Cliffhouse. We visit Pacifica in El Paseo almost every trip to Palm Springs and learned this trip that these two restaurants have common ownership so tried Cliffhouse and it was terrific. Boisterous and high energy, with great service from the valet through to the check at the end. Large and practical wine selection. Garden salad and... More
