Had to find some place to eat

The atmosphere is quaint log cabin. The cedar shavings and peanut shells add to the informal setting. Large TV's on the walls, dim lighting, needed a flashlight to read the menu. This is an old tired outdated restaurant whose menu was really great 20 years ago. Time for a change. The salads were soaked in salad dressing or maybe swimming is a better word! They offer a steak or fried chicken with 2 sides. Our server was pushing the baked potato so we ordered it only to discover it comes with... More

Celebrating with the family (total of 8 people) we were seated quickly which was nice and was able to order relatively fast. The salad was great but once the food arrived from hamburgers to steak. We were all disappointed with the quality. For the price you pay and having been known for the good steak it's a shame you have... More

When you enter, you will be astounded by the theming. There are bear traps and skins and taxidermy animals everywhere. But the strangest thing was the peanut shells that COVERED the floor. However, the food was very good especially the prime rib dip.

It was just okay, for the prices not the best. We had a gift bag with us for our anniversary and the server never asked are you celebrating anything with us tonight? She was really just phoning it in that day. The scallops were broiled and really over cooked.

First off, this is a somewhat unique place to visit and eat at. As you can read from other reviews, this is a restaurant one goes for an experience and then the food. That said, the food is not to be dismissed either. While not truly fine dining, the cost does comes close to being comparable to some fine dinning... More

Enjoyed the peanut shells on the floor and rustic interior. Large portions, very good meat. Only downside was we were in a big room in the back and it was noisy, so hard to hear each other at the table.

Interesting decor with the log walls, taxidermy, fake snow on the outside roof and fake snow on the floor. Service was all right and we liked the lettuce salad with the red cabbage on top. The steaks were prepared correctly and the baked potatoes with the whipped cheese butter were good.

I've been a North Woods customer since I was a kid. Their steaks are wonderful, and the sides that come with the meals are what makes this place special. You get two salads, they are both so simple but so good. One is iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing, the other is red cabbage with an Italian dressing. The trick... More

Should have read the reviews first, only 58% favored this place! Let me start by saying the service was exceptional! They started us off with unlimited salad, two kinds, one was chunks of ice berg lettuce with a scoop of dressing on it and that was the better tasting one! The other was red slaw and it made the ice... More
