Food is okay and service is mediocre

We went here after making reservations on Open Table. We still had to wait. Then we were seated and waited again to get drinks. Waited again to have our order taken. Then came the very long wait for our food. The food is okay, but, not good enough to take the poor service.

Always good food at Northwoods. Great steaks, potatos, beer, peanuts, salad-cabbage, etc... Servers are always good. Bartenders are always good. I'm always going to come here. Have been for more than 20 years.

From the outside, Clearman's actually looks like a huge Wisconsin north woods lodge, and the decor inside doesn't disappoint. We ate here with a group of eight people. Food was outstanding, once we finally got it. Some orders took so long arriving that other folks were already done eating. The mixed salad was incredible, as was my steak. The prices,... More

We waited patiently to be seated, got a bowl of peanuts and people watched. We were called and it was time to get a table. We had the most amazing waiter, Robert Ramos. He had to deal with a party behind us that were making unusual request and while the waiter was away, decided on how to get the manager... More

You get salad, bread, rice and baked potato with your meal. Quality is good, portions are huge. Service was good, the menu varied. Price was a bit on the steep side. I guess you either like the peanuts and sawdust style or you don't. I am not a fan. The whole feel was a bit dated. Staff were friendly and... More

We visited with 7 people on a Saturday night at around 7pm. The restaurant was half empty. After our meal, I now know why. First thing I saw upon entering was the "B" rating from the Los Angeles County health department for cleanliness. Kinda scary. However, having visited the Azusa location for the past 30 plus years, I figured we... More

Eight of us hit the La Mirada location last night to celebrate a birthday. If you aren't familiar with this small chain of three restaurants, they are log cabin style complete with "snow" on the roof. To carry through with the rusticity, there is sawdust on the floor and you are encouraged to throw your peanut shells on the floor.... More

Passed this spot thousands of times before finally eating here. My mom would bring home the salad, and bread as a kid when her, and Dad had date night, and it hasn't changed in all these years. Brought back childhood memory's instantly. I've been back several times, and only order the double lobster plate. It's on the expensive side, but... More

Been coming here off and on for years, always made it a point to stop in for at least one meal while visiting SoCal after I didn't live there anymore. Maybe the bar and expectations have been raised a little to high now. Quality and portion size seemed a little off on last visit. Service as always is great. Maybe... More

This was first time at North Woods Inn. I wanted to try it after driving by it on the highway and noticing the log cabin with the snow on the roof. The inside also has nice theming. I knew from other reviews that they served large portions so I skipped the apetizer. Every entree comes with two types of salad... More
