Tasty!

Interesting decor with the log walls, taxidermy, fake snow on the outside roof and fake snow on the floor. Service was all right and we liked the lettuce salad with the red cabbage on top. The steaks were prepared correctly and the baked potatoes with the whipped cheese butter were good.

I've been a North Woods customer since I was a kid. Their steaks are wonderful, and the sides that come with the meals are what makes this place special. You get two salads, they are both so simple but so good. One is iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing, the other is red cabbage with an Italian dressing. The trick... More

Should have read the reviews first, only 58% favored this place! Let me start by saying the service was exceptional! They started us off with unlimited salad, two kinds, one was chunks of ice berg lettuce with a scoop of dressing on it and that was the better tasting one! The other was red slaw and it made the ice... More

My wife and I had not been to southern California for several years, but we remembered the North Woods Inn as having great food. We were a bit disappointed to find the one we used to go to had closed, but were happy to find this one still there. We were really excited to find the quality of the food... More

I have gone to this restaurant since it opened as when I lived in Southern California it was one of the clients of the accounting firm I worked for. But last night was a night that would not have brought me back if it was my first time. We were waiting for two more of our party to show up... More

Nice atmosphere. Don't like the menu system. Food was better than average but not great. Our server had the personality of a rock. We were a party of 4, 2 of us arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait to be seated until the other 2 arrived despite the fact the restraunt was half empty. Not only is the... More

I have passed this restaurant numerous times on my way to and from Disneyland ... always wondering why there was a log cabin with fake snow on the top so far (20 minutes or less) outside of Disneyland. While staying at a nearby hotel, I decided to check it out and found one of my new favorite 'dive restaurants' in... More

We had driven past this restaurant many times and always commented on the fake snow covered roof in the middle of California heat waves and finally decided to stop in for quick meal, thinking they will have some different things as the sign does say, sandwiches and dinner. We were sorely disappointed as the menu prices spiked higher than a... More

When we arrived I felt like I was in the mountains, which I loved. It looks like a giant wood cabin. The salad was awesome, the even bring a big bowl of red cabbage and awesome cheese bread. There are peanuts on the table, and you throw the shells on the ground. The food is not cheap, but it was... More

Went while traveling on business while in La Mirada. The food was marginal at best, I will not be going back based on poor quality of food, ambience of the restaurant is dark and dungeon like and the prices are way to high for poor food quality. This place needs a refresh or needs to be closed.
