Authentic Peruvian food

Authentic Peruvian food and if you are patient with the long wait times from there wait staff you will have a wonderful meal. Appears to be family owned and operated with the manger not concentrating on service. Unfortunate because the food is really good.

Let's start by calling Mario's Peruvian restaurant what it is: a sad disappointment in that they call themselves Peruvian, but they do not deliver the quality of food Peru is well known for around the world. Case in point: Choros a la Criolla, $10+ for 6 medium size mussels. The size of these tasty mollusks was certainly not the issue,... More

Stopped by at this restaurant on the way from LAX to Brea. Busy on a Saturday night, but I was quickly seated and service was helpful, friendly and speedy. I had the ceviche and the Lomo Salteado, with a couple of bottles of Cristal. Quality was reasonable, quantity on the large side (most folk probably wanted a doggie bag, though).... More

I've been passing this restaurant for the last 5 years and finally stopped this week to try it. The complimentary bread was cold, i wish it was atleast warmed but you can't expect much. I ordered the fried calamari and lomo saltado. The serving was plenty for the calamari, good for 4 of us, the "salsa" sauce that came with... More

Our family gets food to go from this place - we like the beef, potato, onion with white rice. I dont know what it is called, but it is the best. It is worth a try. I was introduced to this place by a Peruvian, and they said it is good & authentic. So worth a try if you want... More

I went to this place with my co-workers while on a business trip. While the place may look by itself as a fast-food or a diner restaurant, don't let the looks to fool yourself. The cooks definitely know their stuff. The fish I had was great, others at our party had meat/poultry dishes and none of them got disappointed. And... More
