Moved to La Mesa three years ago and felt lucky that Diane Powers bought this place. Have eaten here over a dozen times, the last just last month (July 2009). Thereis a slight loss of magic that the Old Town location had, especially the formerly glorious garden dining; that said, Mariettas is so close that if you want good mexican food go there instead Casa de Pico's atmosphere (decorations) is a bit better than Marietta's but the service is a bit worse. I've had many friends rave over this place. When I went the food was extremely greasy and had no flavor. I went shortly after they first opened in the Grossmont Center. I am willing to give it another try and will let you know the results. more

Authentic, vibrant energetic atmosphere and decor. Food is quite authentic. About $25 per head for food and beverage. more
