We enjoyed this nicely appointed restaurant and found the food to be excellent. As i typical of restaurants in Italy, they do not hurry you. We found the waiter available anytime we needed him to be, otherwise he let us enjoy our meal and wine. We'd been to San Pasqual Winery, and this restaurant does not charge corkage. Nice that... They were always unpredictable in terms of service. Sometimes friendly (especially the manager) mostly not. Went in for take out, was given a seat by the manager & then asked to move so a lady with her dog in a baby buggy could have my table! Last time the chicken was rubber & the pasta hard.

We went to this restaurant on a whim. It was close to where we were. The food was excellent. The tiramisu salad was delicious. The veal picatta was fantastic. The portions were huge. The service was excellent. The dessert was a great way to finish the meal. The wine list was extensive and the prices were quite reasonable. We recommend... More

The owner, servers and cook always are attentive to my wife's food allergies such as no alcohol, tomato, lemon or spices, which makes it kind of tough for an Italian restaurant. But her meal always come out delicious and made to order as requested. I especially enjoy some of their seafood dishes and a martini to start with. Thanks a... More

I had a portobello ravioli in mshroom cream sauce and it was brilliant -- one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. My wife had the filet mignon in green peppercorn sauce and felt let down by a fairly tough cut of meat. Ate here a couple of years ago and both had excellent food, so maybe theas just... More

We came here for our 2 year anniversary and had a wonderful time. I believe the food is decently priced and the atmosphere was perfect. It was really easy to enjoy your food and have great conversation. The complimentary bread was delicious along with our entrees.

We had just arrived in La Mesa to our hotel and got a great suggestion for dinner for our son's Birthday. Right when we walked in we were greeted and seated promptly. The waitress was wonderful and knew the menu front to back. She had wonderful suggestions and took great care of the kids making them feel special. Upon finding... More

Went looking for someplace new to eat on fathers day, we stumbled on Trattoria and were pleasantly surprised. Miguel, our waiter was attentive and very helpful. We loved the wine that he recommended. It went perfect with our meal. The food was delicious and visually appealing. The restrooms were clean and without odor. We will be back, and we will... More

Who would think you'd find excellent Italian in old town La Mesa? We come down to visit our son at SDSU and have had an excellent dinner here every time we've visited. Ambiance, food and service have been excellent every time.
