What I was looking for in seafood

I ate at the bar and there were excellent servers and bartenders. after a nice cocktail I had a delicious dinner of calamari, fresh oysters, and shrimp, following a caesar salad. Small wine list but reasonable and i got the wines I wanted by the glass and the pours were generous. Overall check very... read more

I've never understood the allure of The Brigantine. People flock there, but why? It's okay. The food is okay. The portions are just okay, but nothing to brag about. The famed fish tacos are just okay. The wait staff are nothing special. But prices are steep. Parking is a fender-bender waiting to happen - the place is perched on the... More

I love this local watering hole. Great happy hour food and drinks. In fact this is where I met my husband 19 years ago. They catered my wedding. I can't say enough great things. Gotta go for yourself you won't be dissapointed.

Used to frequent this place regularly until a couple doses of food poisoning soured me on the experience. Sorry to say, but you take your chances here.

We have eaten at the Brigantine many many times and have chosen it often for special occasions. We ate here for my birthday on Wednesday. The waiter was new he told us but he did fine. My daughter and I got salmon and it came with some cauliflower mush that was not very good. The salmon was fine. It costs... More

Great food and atmosphere. Food and drink specials. Big round fire pit in bar area. Friendly staff. Outdoor patio with heaters if you want to eat outside.

We have been coming to the Brig since 1985 or so and it continues to be just a great place. A great bar, always a good selection of Catch of the Day, and wonderful prime rib. Always good prime rib. And the seafood platter! Another great choice. What can I say, we love it!

My wife and I chose this chain based on tripadvisor recent write-ups. The vibe is good, a busy and popular place. When we sat down, we noticed how strong the air conditioning was. The vent is high on one wall where I would imagine a lot of people felt the strong cold breeze. We ordered calamari which was nicely prepared,... More

My friend took me to a birthday lunch here a couple of weeks ago. The food was really delicious and the server was very attentive. I had the fish tacos and I loved them. Dinner or lunch this restaurant is one of the best especially in La Mesa.

This restaurant is a go-to for locals. It was packed on Friday eveing when we were there, the kind of place you know about in your own hometown where friends hang out for drinks after work, birthday bashes, visits with Great Aunties, etc. There are very nice outdoor/terrace seating options, as well as large inside dining rooms. The place is... More
