Located in a strip mall, this restaurant would have earned five stars except for the acoustics. This hidden gem in a Von's shopping center is terrific. Great service, fresh baked bread to get you started. We've tried many items on the menu and never have been disappointed. Only $6 for a Duvell beer! We always use a $15 for $30 living social coupon which makes our visits even more of a value. If you live nearby,... More

Nice experience. Excellent food. My wife and I both had Veal Scallopini, a dish we have ordered in many restaurants in many countries including a recent trip to Rome. It was as good as anyplace in my opinion.

It helps that many of the waitstaff have wonderful italian accents. But that is not what makes this restaurant so good. ...its the food. It is authentic italian. The waiters are knowledgable about wine and are happy to suggest something nice to go with your entre choice. One time I described what I was craving and they created it for... More

Every time we visit the San Diego area, we make sure to have dinner once at Antica Trattoria. This time we had the butternut squash ravioli and the special which was a spinach ravioli. Both were excellent. The wine selection is smallish, but good. Several Italian wines and what was recommended we enjoyed. Warm bread with oil served and the... More

This fantastic restaurant, in a strip mall near San Diego State University, is a hidden gem. The decor is charming and the tables are not crowded together (although more comfortable chairs with a little lower back support would be appreciated). The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient, and never make you feel rushed. Then there's the food. It's sublime. It's... More

This place is always packed! We had gone to Italy in the spring and had missed real Italian food. The family is from Milan I heard, so it was the food I was looking for. The lasagna was just like they make there, more like a croissant with lite layers of pasta stacked up high.

Have now eaten twice in this lovely restaurant and would recommend it highly if you enjoy excellently prepared Italian food. The location would lead you to initially believe that it may be a pizza/pasta place, but it certainly is not. The menu is varied, the wine list good, service is professional and attentive, and the prices are very fair. This... More

Tucked away in the modest locale of a strip mall, Antica draws repeat diners for all the right reasons and one that is unexpected. If you have East Coast Italian family, as I do, they immediately appreciate the food; the menu has something for everyone, and each selection is exquisitely prepared. Even though meatballs are not on the menu, by... More

Love the atmosphere, the food, and the service. They have a special for two where you each get a salad, an entree, dessert and a bottle of wine for $70. Can't beat it. One of the waiters is a trained opera singer and serenades the crowd with a wonderful voice. It gets crowded, so make a reservation.
