Really good Italian food!

This is a small neighborhood restaurant with excellent Italian food. The meat dishes are generous and very tender. Nice wine selection, also has a wine bar. Delicious bread and spumoni for dessert. Other options too, but I love spumoni.

Wow. Delicious Italian cuisine. We had the privilege to sample a new pasta from the chef / owner. You've got to try it next time you come. Thanks Francesco! Lovely evening. Thumbs up to the waiters!

Having lived in Italy for 3.5 years until a year ago, I am very particular about Italian food and restaurants that people claim are authentic. To my disappointment, Antica Trattoria is definitely NOT authentic Italian. It has decent Italian-influenced American dishes, but it is not Italian by Italian standards. The bread is hot but very doughy. The oil/vinegar dip is... More

This strip mall restaurant is somewhat of a local favorite. However, I recommend you eat somewhere else. True, the help is very friendly and it feels pretty comfortable half full of people. But the food poorly prepared with ingredients of questionable freshness and using over-the-top creamy rich sauces. I had the $8 "Insalata Cesare" (classic Caesar salad), modest size, slim... More

I went to Antica Trattoria because of good reviews on TripAdvisor. It is a somewhat hidden restaurant in that it would be easy to pass by. The ambiance is pleasant, the furnishings OK. The service was excellent. We were waiting for our 4th member of the party to show up. The waiter worked with us on our order and kept... More

Located in a strip mall, this restaurant would have earned five stars except for the acoustics. Tile flooring and high ceilings serve to amplify the sounds of diners, making dinner conversations somewhat strained. That said, this was a nice discovery to find excellent Italian food. We went there because of the location near to our house and because it was... More

This hidden gem in a Von's shopping center is terrific. Great service, fresh baked bread to get you started. We've tried many items on the menu and never have been disappointed. Only $6 for a Duvell beer! We always use a $15 for $30 living social coupon which makes our visits even more of a value. If you live nearby,... More

Nice experience. Excellent food. My wife and I both had Veal Scallopini, a dish we have ordered in many restaurants in many countries including a recent trip to Rome. It was as good as anyplace in my opinion.

It helps that many of the waitstaff have wonderful italian accents. But that is not what makes this restaurant so good. ...its the food. It is authentic italian. The waiters are knowledgable about wine and are happy to suggest something nice to go with your entre choice. One time I described what I was craving and they created it for... More

Every time we visit the San Diego area, we make sure to have dinner once at Antica Trattoria. This time we had the butternut squash ravioli and the special which was a spinach ravioli. Both were excellent. The wine selection is smallish, but good. Several Italian wines and what was recommended we enjoyed. Warm bread with oil served and the... More
