Generous portions of food for breakfast. Large menu, but they will accomodate almost any special request. Self-serve coffee from a dozen blends is a great idea. Usually busy, so be prepared to wait a few minutes.

This little restaurant sits in a commercial strip mall (not really a "mall" - just a conglomeration of stores and shops) and really is unnoticeable from the street, which isn't that well traveled. Don't let that fool you; this is a destination! Specials are posted at the door as you enter; more specials are on the wall behind the register... More

I stopped into this restaurant with my sister for breakfas because it was supposed to be pretty good. We saw a line of people at the register, but a few empty tables. We didn't see a hostess stand, so we sat down. No servers approached us so we flagged down someone wiping tables and asked for menus which she brought... More

This is a really great little bistro The menu is very diverse. The juices are home made. All of the food is fresh. It is a family restaurant with a touch of Mexico. Highly recommended. !

When traveling getting a great local meal is a must and this place hit the spot! We went out for Sunday breakfast which was a very busy. You order from the counter which I am not accustomed too and at first we were all a little weary about it; but when the food came, it was great. I would recommend... More

You order at the counter and the place is popular for breakfast and lunch. The have several types of real (not candy flavored) coffee in pump pots made strong and hot. For a bakery the selection is limited but they have good egg dishes, salads, and more. At the back of a strip mall, but it's a clean and pleasant... More

Every time that we are in La Mesa to visit my folks, we go here at LEAST once. In addition, my parents go here often as it is one of their favorites. If you do not want a chain restaurant and want a bountiful yummy made from scratch breakfast you can't go wrong by visiting this gem. Now, I have... More

I came across La Mesa Bistro quite by accident. I was driving through a small strip mall parking lot when I spotted this place. I'm always on the lookout for a great breakfast or lunch spot. The lot was full, and when I went inside, there was a line to order. They have an extensive menu, but I was there... More

We now live about 25 miles away but have had two occasions recently to be near La Mesa Bistro and Bakery. The "bakery" was not in evidence, but it serves the as good a breakfast as we have had anywhere in San Diego County. It doubles as a coffeehouse with a great variety of coffees to choose from on a...
