Generous portions, lovely flavor, great vegetarian options.

The food in this restaurant is always good. We especially like the tandoor dishes (especially the lamb) and the curries. This is a great place to take a group with disparate tastes as it provides a variety of spicing options as well as meat centric through vegan dishes. Everyone will leave full... read more

If you're in the area, do your self a huge favor and visit to enjoy a wonderful Himalayan / Nepalese meal. The curries are rich and savory, the portions are very generous and the staff is politely attentive. It's joyful here, a lovely way and place to enjoy a good meal.

Was in town on my own and decided to get take-out and bring back to the hotel from here after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and I am so glad I did. I think this was one of the best meals I have every had and certainly the best version of Chicken Korma ever. The dining room is large and very... More

Don't be put off by the restaurant's location in a strip mall, this place is a great find, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better value for lunch. Their lunch special consists of your choice of two (yes, two) entrees, plus dal soup, rice, and freshly made naan. I had the chicken vindaloo and the chicken kebab, and... More

We discovered this place by accident and its really very good. My friend who lives in Arizona insists on going there for dinner every time he's in town. Not an impressive location but excellent food, large portions and spiced to your taste. Try it, you'll love it.

My husband just got back from Nepal and he wanted me to taste the food that he enjoyed. We went here and had momo's and then we both had tandora. Husband had chicken and I had lamb. There was more than enough to take home and have for dinner the next night.

The Himalayan Cuisine is in a strip mall just off the downtown area of La Mesa off route 8. My friend and I decided to eat there because several years ago we had visited India together and then we both had visited Tibet. We fell in love with Indian food. The restaurant is an eclectic mixture of food from those countries... More

For a foodie who LOVES to eat, my home stomping ground tends to be a little less than thrilling. La Mesa tends to be a friendly, unassuming and comfortable area that doesn't advertise itself as "a destination location" for diners looking for something exciting, exotic and off the beaten path... I am going to say this for the world to... More

My husband isn't a fan of Indian restaurants. He went with a biking group while I was out of town. He was sold, took me as soon as I got home - and it didn't disappoint! I had just been to a place in MD I thought was pretty spectacular - but Himalayan topped it! The Chicken Korma was so... More

This is an interesting and beautifully decorated restaurant, Aside from the food being excellent. I had Chicken Curry and Vegetables in a cream sauce. Both were delicious. They also serve soup and Naan bread with it that comes fresh out of the oven. Service is very good and wait staff anxious to please everyone. This is one restaurant where you... More
