Historic touches, Great views, Good staff

Our group of 40 was well-served, the passed appetizers were delicious (and easy to eat standing up), and the generous, memorabilia filled upstairs dining room and porch made for a lovely experience. The buffet dinner featured fish and chicken, and a delicious salad among other dishes.

The restaurant has a nice water view but is close to the seals so the smell can waft if you are seated on the patio. Both of our dishes had sand in them, the clam linguine and the "keep it simple" -vegan style. I have no idea why there would be sand in a vegan dish. The artichoke small plate... More

This is a historic spot (built in the 1890s) but the food is modern and fresh. We got a table on the covered porch area overlooking the cove, and ordered the fish tacos. It was the first time I had ever tried this dish, and I was apprehensive. They were awesome! Super fresh and tasty with the side of rice... More

Brockton Villa is a peppy place, with good food, located in an old looking big house atop a tall hill, with views galore. It has several levels where you can eat. My girlfriends celebrated my birthday there 2 years ago. The menu is varied and everything I have had there was very good. I've eaten at Brockton Villa for breakfast... More

We stopped by here after visiting La Jolla and sat at a small table overlooking the cove. This is a special place in a special place and I highly recommend it. The service was excellent, its reasonably high end but not at all stuff and most importantly the food was incredible. My breakfast taco with soy chorizo was not just... More

The view here is spectacular overlooking La Jolla beach. The waitress was helpful and fitted me in at lunchtime. The place was packed and people seemed to be really enjoying the view. I opted for the lamb wrap which was average to be honest. Not blown away by the food but worth a visit for the view itself.

While visiting my son in San Diego he suggested that we go to Brockton Villa for breakfast. His advice was on the mark - in fact, perhaps the best breakfast I've ever had in over 40 years of fine dining. I had the carne asada eggs benedict and he had the home made hash. Both were outstanding, and the coast... More

We stopped in at the Brockton Villa for a 5:30 dinner and were lucky enough to get the best table on the patio. There are at least 3 tables overlooking the cove outside and several more inside. We were able to watch the sun set (well, almost, it was just out of view around the point), listen to the seals... More
