Much overrated

Food (not fine or even comfort food, a menu which looks good on paper but is very ordinary; I've been 3times and wish I'd stayed home) Atmosphere (chilly but has the advantage of oceanside view) Service (again, barely par)

After walking past La Jolla Cove, we looked for a place to lunch. We got seated in the Veranda area, with a perfect view to the ocean. They had just ended the breakfast menu. We ordered the fish tacos, garden salad, and seafood chowder. The fish tacos had big chunks of fish, and we chose to have the fruit bowl... More

One of the best places in La Jolla to enjoy a good Californian brunch or breakfast, sea view included.

Just up from the seals and pelicans, Brockton Villa provides a lovely breakfast/brunch place. Corn beef hash excellent, with griddle potatoes. eggs done to you choice, coffee endless, staff friendly and fun. What is there not to like. I always go back every time I go to La Jolla.

I went here early in the morning and received some of the best tasting hash ever. It was a beautiful morning, the view is awesome, and the service received was great. The only downside about this place is its proximity to where the seals use the bathroom and thus has a very strong odor that envelopes it. Overall pretty great.

Brockton has California's best french toast. It's a thick, custard-like concoction that is unlike anything you have ever had for breakfast before. Delicious. The view is also magnificent, looking across the bay towards La Jolla Shores. The only issue is whether the wind is blowing in toward the restaurant, filled with the aroma of bird poop. If so, make sure... More

Brockton Villa is an exceptional little restaurant situated right on La Jolla cove. Housed in a picturesque 1894 cottage, it has a commanding view of the ocean and one of the best breakfast menus in the San Diego area. Service is friendly and efficient (your water and coffee are unobtrusively refilled without the need to ask), and their signature "steamer"... More

We can't make a trip to La Jolla without a visit to the Brockton Villa. While the seaside restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, we always make it a point to visit for breakfast. For me, it's always the "Coast Toast' with a crab cake on the side. The Misses has a hard time passing up the eggs benedict. Make... More

we arrived in time for a late breakfast and were sat on the veranda with a great view. we ordered the Coast Toast and the Crab Ipanema Benedict. both were phenomenal. highly recommended! keep in mind that you are 200 feet from the waters edge and there are seals and birds nearby, therefore, it does sometimes smell bad.

We had reservations here for restaurant week. We were put in a small room, which did have a little view, but not much. The room was very closed off and had little air circulation, so it wasn't very comfortable. The staff was great, very friendly and attentive. The food was okay, but not exceptional. In retrospect would have gone elsewhere.
