Good food - weather can make the difference in enjoyment

So I will say that they have an excellent menu and food. If the weather is normal San Diego perfect 68-75 degrees and you are sitting outside - you score big! But if it's hot and the wind is blowing, the pong from the seabirds can be horrific if you are outside, and inside it can be hot and stuffy.

We had breakfast at Brockton Villa 3 out of 5 mornings that we were in La Jolla and did not tire of it. The view is amazing, the staff friendly and efficient. The French toast the best I have ever tried.

The great view, amazing food and wonderful service combine to make this one of our favorite restaurants. The Coast Toast is incredibly delicious for breakfast or dessert. For dessert try it with a scoop of vanilla Gelato, simply amazing! For lunch or dinner be sure to try the chowder, it is the best my husband and I have ever had.... More

We make it a point to eat here at least once on our stays in San Diego area. This last time was somewhat of a disappointment as the odor from the cove area kept drifting into the dining area making it uncomfortable for our us and the guests we invited and had told about this place. Food was decent as... More

We had a wonderful experience here last week. We arrived for a late breakfast around 9:30 am. The weather was beautiful and we were given a table outside with an amazing view across to the ocean. There is some seal/seagull smell, but after we had been there just a short while we didn't even notice it anymore. The menu is... More

The special was not so special. The table had a dead fly on it. Our server was very nice and brought our meal out fast. I hope it was just bad timing and not the norm.

We have been coming here for years and breakfast is always amazing, as is lunch and dinner for that matter. We love the historic building and of course the view – simply spectacular. Sometimes the smell of the sea lions can get a little strong, but it has never been overbearing once seated on the patio or inside. We don’t... More

Stopped in for breakfast and was amazed at the fantastic service, artfully prepared food and the spectacular view of the La Jolla coast. They had no issues with my splitting the meal with my boyfriends and though busy - they did not rush us. I'd go back in a heartbeat!
