My wife and I ate dinner at this Roy's in late November while staying in the area. We have been to many Roy's restaurants, some of them multiple times and usually have had very good food. On this occasion my wife ordered their Mahi Mahi dish which she has had at other Roy's many times. I had the Butterfish. I... More

Best night out in a long time! A must experience in La Jolla if you can get away early enough to enjoy their Happy Hour menu. The food and drink choices were excellent. Our favorites were the Kobe burger, tuna sushi roll and ebi roll. The GM even stopped by our table and said hello and asked about our evening.... More

We walked in and was hit by the noise from their busy sports bar which takes over most of the restaurant. We were able to get a table toward the back but I felt that the table was rather small for an up-scale venue. The service was very good. We felt that they are cutting corners with the food since... I've eaten at several Roy's including the original in Hawaii. At times I have found the service and food inconsistent varying from great to just OK. However the La Jolla restaurant where I have eaten now 3 times is an exceptional place. The food is outstanding. The butterfish is just amazing and as a change the other night I tried... More

Friendly service, great appetizers. Cold drinks! What else do you need? TV that plays Sports but in a non-invasive way. Not a sports bar - classy place.

We had visited the Roy's on the Big Island and it was great so we decided to go to the local Roy's near Costa Verde in San Diego for our daughter's 14th birthday celebration. When i made the reservation they asked if it was a special occasion and I mentioned the birthday. The food was excellent, everyone was very pleased... More

We had not been to a Roy's for years. We decided to use a $25 card we received in the mail and visit Roy's. We are glad we did because it was outstanding. Service was great and the food was to "die for". I had the Hamachi for an appetizer that was as good as I have ever had. My... More

Roy's used to be one of our favorite places to dine and we enjoyed the happy hour cocktail specials and appetizers. Well they totally changed the menu and now the cocktails are nothing more than sweet drinks and a very limited variety. For some reason they removed the better ones and left very few to choose from. Most of the... More
