Good Ambiance

Our server was an extremely pleasant young man named Pablo. It was our first visit, so he was very helpful in pointing out dishes we might like to try. He also let us know that on Fridays, bottles of wine are half price and it was a better value than ordering by the glass. The food was excellent... read more

We assumed that a west coast crab restaurant overlooking the ocean would have dungeness crab, uh no...so we were a bit disappointed. Very little on the menu was actually local. Pricey. The smoked martini was awesome though.

This was our second visit. The service was very attentive and friendly again. One of the best views for dinner in La Jolla. The Fresh Catch and shellfish selections are very good. A solid dining experience, but nothing particularly memorable for a restaurant at this price level.

We had a chance to walk along the Prospect shopping district and wanted some fresh seafood. We came across the Crab Catcher and decided to try it. Pricey, but so worth the views, the food and the service! I had one of the best ciopino's and their crab salads are amazing. Some like to sit in their outside terrace as... More

I first came here with a friend of mine for a happy hour. Tuna tacos were a delicious discovery. We decided to come back for a complete lunch. It was the best choice. You can just go randomly and you will be veeery happy. They will also provide you sparkling wine for the whole lunch. All these things happen in... More

They wanted to charge us more for the ocean view (it was dark, pitch black). The staff were pretentious college students who had no interest in us as we were just there for a business meal and weren't the usual rich La Jolla customers. The menu was limited and very expensive. I hate it when you don't get sides with... More

A brand restaurant, the premium is largely tied to the view you're getting at the restaurant of La Jolla Cove. If you're not getting review, I would probably not be happy with the prices. The wait staff was excellent.

Recently my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Crab Catcher in La Jolla, CA. This was our third visit in the past several months. The food and service remain excellent as does the view of the cove (ocean) including the many seals that sun bath on the rocks surrounding the shore line. The menu remains basically the... More

Great food, exceptional service, fantastic views. Can one ask for anything more from a restaurant? We loved everything we tasted, the calamari, the shrimp, the lobster, the crab legs. The platter was huge, definitely needs to be shared. A bit pricey but the food was delicious.
