Try the Surfer Shake or the Smoked Salmon Omelet

One of the best things in La Jolla (other than the fabulous beaches, abundant sea life and great shops) is Harry’s Coffee Shop. Whenever I go to La Jolla, I drive straight to Harry’s (about a 2 hour drive from my house) just for the Breakfast. My favorite is the Smoked Salmon Omelet (which is hard... read more

great place in La Jolla, be prepared to wait a while... but the wait is well worth it. The menu is larger than the place itself and everything we ordered was awesome. Bagels and lox, Eggs Florentine, waffles etc. Service was good and not over priced. Will be back.

We were visiting friends in La Jolla and they took us here for lunch. A typical neighborhood diner with friendly & accommodating wait staff, great food at reasonable prices. They charge extra for real maple syrup which isn't a big deal. Some of the diners we go to in NY charge as well. Not a big deal - but the... More

Not much more to say than that. Who doesn't love bacon IN waffles?? Wonderful atmosphere, the staff was amazing and the photos on the walls are worth the trip alone. Can't wait to come back again!

We visited Harry's one late (10:30ish) morning during our stay in LaJolla and every table in the main section of the restaurant was occupied, plus they had the whole back reserved for a visiting La Crosse team, so we waited for approximately 15 minutes before being seated, but it was well worth the wait. (Note: Sidewalk seating was available but... More

My wife and I discovered Harry's Coffee Shop in La Jolla. This is a no-frills diner style place. Good food, good service (if you get Shelly, you will be well taken care of - personable, stays engaged). Prices are refreshingly un-La Jolla-like – reasonable. When you go bring your patience because there will probably be a line (we waited 30... More

We spent a week in La Jolla recently and Harry's was within walking distance to our condo. We just loved everything about it. We only had breakfast but liked everything we ordered. The staff is very friendly and prompt. It takes you back to a slower time...very nostalgic.

Came to Harry's because of all the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. It's definitely an old place so it's nostalgic. Is it great? No. Do you HAVE to eat here if you're in La Jolla? No. Food was "eh." I had oatmeal pancakes, one son got the Superfecta, our other son got a grilled chicken sandwich, husband got bacon pancakes (a... More

Harry's has been there forever but it feels classic not dated (or dirty). It was really fun to have such an excellent breakfast there and watch the enjoyment of regulars and tourists alike.
