We had breakfast and the French Toast was superb! It was served with very little syrup but it wasn't needed. My husband really enjoyed his omelet also.

Hi Anita - So glad you had the opportunity to dine with us during your recent visit to the Grande Colonial hotel. Our Brioche French Toast is one of our best selling breakfast items. Next time I hope you will stop by for lunch or dinner! Jason Knibb, Executive Chef More

We were staying at the hotel that this restaurant is located in, Grande Colonial, and decided to grab breakfast here since we thought it would be a good, quick option. It was anything but that. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted when we walked in, but after waiting over 5 mins for menus and water we... More

Dear Jasbap8 - I am very disappointed to read your comments about your breakfast at NINE-TEN. This is clearly not the level of service we strive to provide our customers and I apologize for your experience. Please know that I am following up immediately with our management team to determine why your table did not receive the same kind of... More

The food and the presentation was outstanding! We had heard of the executive chef and he didn't disappoint. In addition to the usual menu, you can choose a 3 or a 5 course option from the existing menu choices, It was certainly the best value!

Dear Polobear99 - Thank you for dining with us during your trip down to La Jolla. I see you were also a guest of the Grande Colonial hotel and I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. I honestly believe our 3-course Market Menu is the best value in town. But if you really want to experience something, try... More

I'd been planning a 3-day weekend in La Jolla for some time. But as time approached, I'd completely forgotten to reserve a table at Nine-Ten for dinner. As luck would have it, no tables were available when I checked Open Table. I called the restaurant directly and the young woman who assisted me couldn't have been more gracious. She reserved... More

Dear GareThere: Your review is exactly the type of review I love to read. Thank you! It sounds like your experience was positive from start to finish. I'm really glad to hear we were able to squeeze you in! Ironically, I am just finishing up the recipe for the Braised Artichokes for a journalist and am happy you enjoyed the... More

This new restaurant in the Grande Colonial hotel is a real hit with us. The four of us tried the chef's tasting menu with wine pairing, the twist was that we got different dishes so our experience was doubled when shared. The food courses were beautifully presented and close to perfection. The wine pairing was inventive and well done. Service... More

Thanks, 52024Pelle_60: So glad you had a chance to dine with us while visiting all the way from Portland. And thanks for choosing to put yourselves at my mercy with our "Mercy of the Chef" tasting menu. It's always so fun for me to get creative in the kitchen and try new things on adventurous diners. I hope you'll be... More

We are a swiss foodie family who recentely travelled through California with stops in SF, LA and San Diego - with a stopover in Vegas. We have dinnered two times at nine ten and this easy the best restaurant of the whole trip. Chef Jason Knibb serves a fantastically refined, light cuisine that is definetly worth the price. His talent... More

Thank you very much for your comments about dining at NINE-TEN. Nice atmosphere. Great food and a good happy hour. Awesome location. But I have to say the service is hit or miss. That being said, I would recommend trying Nine-Ten and hopefully you will have a good experience.

My wife and I went to Nine Ten because we are staying at the Grande Colonial and we were not disappointed! All the food was fresh and exceptionally tasty. No, not your regular seaside caf - Brits will know what I mean by that. This is a restaurant/bar, with a thoughtful menu, first class service and above all, excellent food at reasonable lunch-time prices. We stayed at the Grande Colonial Hotel at the end of January. Breakfast was included at the hotel's restaurant, Nine-Ten. The restaurant has very unassuming decor but it is all about the food and the service.
