This is what you dream about for brunch. Sun, breeze, great food. It is light airy atmosphere with outside seating. There is great breakfast and luncheon fair. My wife loves going in the afternoon to have a treat after shopping all day.

The place looked packed and it had really good reviews so we gave it a go. The Mexican hot chocolate was fantastic and the food portions generous. I had the ricotta stuffed french toast and, although it looked absolutely scrumptious, the taste was a little bland. Price-wise, it was average but the bland brunch just didn't encourage me to go... I have to admit, I'm a breakfast girl. When we arrived there was a huge line waiting to get in. After a 20 minute wait, we found out what only the fuss was about. I ordered the two egg breakfast. It came with grapes, potatoes, scone, and bacon. Our waiter brought us whipped butter and jelly that was to die... More

If you look for a very good breakfast or lunch at affordable cost and outside sitting, this is the place to be. Be there very early if you do not like to stay in line. This place is packed every day of the week.

The picture coupled with Cottage is of the Stuffed French Toast, which I had for my breakfast this morning.... SO. GOOD. Does not need the accompaniment of the syrup or butter in the side. This is massive but one of the best French toasts I've ever had. Topped with fruit this will fill you up and leave you smiling. Quaint... More

Thanks Trip Advisor, you recommended La Jolla and Cottage! :) We didn't make any reservation, but we were able to get a table just next to the picket-fence! Truly enjoyed the total experience, the food, the service, the atmosphere, I wish I could bring you back to Singapore :) I attached pictures of our happy faces and the food we... More

Part of the fun of being in Southern California is having the option to enjoy your meals alfresco when the weather is nice-- somehow, things just taste better. And when you're in La Jolla, where better to perpetuate this tradition but at the charming umbrella-shaded, picket-fenced patio of the very popular Cottage. Sip a latte, linger over a mimosa or... My wife and I had a great breakfast here over the weekend. The Polenta Benedict were excellent. Wife's omelette was good. Potatoes were Excellent. Quick service, great location, would return happily.

This truly is a cottage with several tables and umbrellas in the front yard-the food is absolutely delicious. Their granola is house baked and well worth the price for a bag-they shipped several bags to our home so we could give them out as souvenirs of our trip !!

We saw the lines day after day so had to try it. Now we know why everyone was lined up. Definitely worth the wait. I will be dreaming of this french toast for years.
