I had a very mediocre crab sandwich, but the others in my party had breakfast that looked great. The fruit bowl was excellent. Great outdoor dining in a beautiful setting in La Jolla.

Based upon the trip advisor reviews, we headed to the Cottage for breakfast and we were not disappointed! We waited about 15 minutes and the host was excellent. We ordered coffee cake which was huge and yummy! The French toast with strawberries and bananas was so good as was the egg scramble with chicken sausage, spinach, mushrooms and onions. Coffee... You can tell by the lines of people waiting that you've stumbled upon a great restaurant. Breakfast is amazing, so many choices...... and lunch and dinner are equally good. Little known secret that I will probably regret telling is that dinner (served only in the summer) is not quite as crowded as the breakfast crowd. Shhhhh. Keep it to yourself.... More

The Cottage has limited seating inside, but most patrons come to sit out on the patio and have a good meal in the heart of La Jolla. Food is quite good, with lots of specialty items. It's a classic place for breakfast, but we also hosted a pre-wedding evening meal there. The meals are not inexpensive, but most people readily... More

In the past we've gone for weekend brunch while visiting San Diego, but this time we decided on Monday brunch, and appreciated the overlap of breakfast and lunch menus. We've always enjoyed it, but this time in particular appreciated the GF menu (vegan options, too), and the tangerine mimosas were a lot fun. The egg dishes always have been a... More

Really nice little patio, very good food. We came close to closing and almost didn't stay, but they were really chilled out and friendly and did not rush at all.

Great breakfast, friendly helpful service and good value. My wife is coeliac and was impressed by the gluten free options available. She had plenty to choose from, as she said, this was the best breakfast selection she has ever had. Never had a better breakfast.

The Cottage is a great place to start your day in La Jolla with a good breakfast. I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and my husband had the stuffed french toast. Both were yummy and we enjoyed the outside seating.

We (wife, son (6), daughter (3) and myself) got there first thing on Sunday morning before we went to the UCSD Acquarium. It's a good thing too because within 30 minutes the place was packed. The food was excellent. My wife had a huge fruit plate. Lots of fresh strawberries and blackberries. It was plenty for her for breakfast. I... More

We've had better. Don't get me wrong, it was good and the service was good, as was the coffee. but we felt it was a bit 'too standard' for what we were looking for. We sat outside on the patio and had an omelette with mushrooms and other veggies and an eggs benny. The biscut they others have referred to... More
