One of the top five Breakfasts

I had one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten in a restaurant ever. I had an egg sandwich with arugula. The bread was perfectly toasted, crunchy and chewy. We also had a chicken fajita eggs Benedict that had a wonderful blend of spices and flavors. The coffee was great the service... read more

Set just a couple blocks off the main Village area this restaurant does not disappoint. Nice varied menu, our servings were tasty and good portioned - service was wonderful, just the right amount of attention and the pricing is very fair. Well worth a try if you're in the area ..

I have been here twice. Delicious. My mouth is watering as I type and recap my experience here. We ordered the Tuna Nachos (each chip comes with a slice if tuna, sauce, and veggies), eggs benedict, and the crab cake sandwhich. The original order came from the menu, but our lovely and experienced waitress said --darling if you want to... More

This cafe is open every day for breakfast and for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. We visited both for dinner (once) and for breakfast (twice) although breakfast was provided at our hotel. There is a line up but the service is very efficient so you won't have to wait too long. The food is wonderful! So fresh and creative.... More

The Cottage is bustling with breakfast business on a Saturday morning, maybe too busy. The Cottage is extremely popular for Saturday morning and they do not take reservations for breakfast or lunch. However, Cottage is aware of the average wait time and has coffee and coffee cake available to ease the wait. We were quoted 45 minutes but it was... More

We went to The Cottage for breakfast. Great service. The plates are very large. I ordered the french toast stuffed with strawberry compote and mascarpone cheese. I added extra fruit for $1.50. It was excellent, much more than I could eat. A side note we returned for dinner, it was not what we had hoped for. Stick to breakfast and... More

Everything was perfect. I had a wild mushroom omelette and my man friend had the chicken hash. We added sides of avocado and crab cakes. Excellent location. Nice shaded patio.

Best breakfast in town. Coffee is perfect and they served it with our favorite heavy whipping cream. Eggs La Jolla and the French Toast are amazing. Be sure to add the avocado. Oh and the potatoes are delicious too. Good food good vibe.

I've been here several times on visits to the San Diego area every few years. It's a must do. I went on a weekday so not much of a line. Sat or Sun morning, you're waiting! But it's so worth the wait. Great portions and even greater food. Even the muffins are amazing. They are a small meal in themselves!... More
