A pleasant little hideaway, cozy and romantic.

This is a small restaurant that requires a little effort to find. Just keep walking east on Prospect past The Spot Restaurant and Bar and keep your eye open for a pleasant little outdoor mall area. We enjoyed a dinner at La Dolce Vita during a brief visit to La Jolla. The food was very good, but what we really enjoyed was the outdoor dining on a beautiful evening. We had a large group, and they quickly were able to accomate us.

Lovely surroundings Waiter likable (be careful with optional added) Cooking is good So it's the first time I see the waiter decide the price for his tip on a check. (amount printed on the bills). And as you are a winner you have a line to pay another Tip on CB receive. I don't think that it is honest methods.... More

Beautiful dinner in a very authentic italian restaurant. The food was delicious. The homemade bread and the sun dried souce was spectacular! Bravo!

The food here was very good, and the service was fast compared to the amount of people and the fact that it was Valentine’s Day. We were very lucky because we did not have reservations. All of our main course dishes were outstandingly good, we highly recommend the lobster ravioli, the salmon, and the chicken. The waiters are nice, polite,... More

This is a really small but charming restaurant. The bread is crusty and good. The Mozzarella Caprese was disappointing. The tomatoes weren't heirloom and they weren't even ripe. There wasn't any balsamic vinegar or delicious extra virgin olive oil drizzled over it. The Salmone Romana was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly. We ended our meal with another disappointment. I... More

At La Dolce Vita, you will not only have reasonably priced food, you will get entertained. On Friday nights, you will listen to Opera! I might even sing. It's down and alley with a wonderful feeling of old Italy. Be careful, it gets crowed on Friday's.

My friend and I had a nice dinner here. After looking up and down Prospect for a restaurant that served a Caprese salad, it came down to La Dolce Vita ($9) and Eddie V's ($18). We chose LDV w/fairly good reviews and an A rating in the window. The ambiance was pleasant, the food was tasty and the price was... More

We were heading out to do an electric bike tour and La Dolce Vita was in the same courtyard so with a leap of faith we decided to try it out. We sat outside in a lovely courtyard and enjoyed some very good Margherita pizza and Penne alla Norma. The bread and oil served to the table were outstanding. I... More

I just came back from Italy and was amazed how the food is prepared just like what i had in southern Italy where my family roots are. Being a dual citizen of theUS and Italy,I believe this restaurant could have been located in my home town of Malito- Great Job preparing some of my favorite dishes!!
