We discovered this restaurant while looking for a lunch spot and liked it enough to return for dinner a couple of days later. Both meals were great. They serve a starter of crispy fresh bread with a sun dried tomato dip that is wonderful. Portions are generous and well prepared. For dinner I had the special of the day, lamb... More

We were having a friend's dinner in La Jolla and the air smelled so foul, we walked a bit inland and came across the charming restaurant. The ambience and service added to the 'very good', their choices of menu items was large. We each had something different. My husband loved the tuna. My chicken breast was pan fried and covered... Good food and large servings. Service is very good, the food is just above average. Nothing notable. The house wine was good but still average.

Not much else to say. Food was okay. Not great, but now awful. Server was wierd. We came upon the restaurant by chance while walking in La Jolla. Probably wouldn't come back to this place.

I love this fabulous little Italian gem. We stumbled upon it during our first trip to La Jolla 14 years ago. I NEVER miss an opportunity to eat there. In fact, I arrange the end of a 14 day road trip so that I would be within a short drive of it. We have never had a meal that wasn't... More

I travel and eat out a lot. La Dolce Vita is a solid performer. Simple things that make a good restaurant...prompt, knowledgeable service, bus person minds waters and clear plates at the right time, home baked hot bread, good menu variety. I popped in for a quick meal by myself. Caesar salad and Penne alla Vodka with chicken added. Salad... More

Service was wonderful. Enzo is a great host and his home made wine is the best. Don't miss it. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially in the evening. We had a rehersal dinner there and couldn't be happier.

A short, but energizing walk up the stairs from La Jolla Cove Suites and a left down Prospect street, is La Dolce Vita. It's right across street from Georges in a plaza. Our first night in San Diego and we found a good Barbera Barolo, the 2005 was out of our price range, but the 2010 was less than half... More

Wonderful little bistro in La Jolla. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the food and it's preparation, and the food was amazing. I had the fettucini bolognese and was surprised, but delighted that it was a very light tomato sauce, and not the heavy tomato cream sauce usually made for this dish. When I asked about it, the waiter said... More

After putting our name for a 45 min wait at a spot closer to shore, we walked the area and found La Dolce Vita right off the main street. We sat outside in the courtyard by the fountain and had a very pleasant afternoon catching up with friends we hadn't seen in some time. Food was really fresh, well seasoned... More
