I have lived in San Diego for 5 years now, and just tried this restaurant for the first time...I wish I had found it a while ago! The view of La Jolla cove was amazing, the service was excellent, the food surpassed my expectations and the wine list was top notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant!! more

The food was OK, not the best I've had and not the worst. The service though really let Trattoria Acqua down. It was pretty hit and miss, some of our order was wrong and the waiter got the balance of waiting on us totally on the wrong side - hovering around and telling bad jokes. We felt a little harrassed.... more

The food is all right, not really all that spectacular. Rustic Italian food, I think. However, the service when I went (2005) was quite horrible. Dirty plates and cutlery and glasses. Hopefully the service has improved by now. more
