Not as good as I remembered???

Not sure what happened to this place... It was so good! Now it's just ok. Party of 2 ordered the Alfonso burrito and the veggie fajita. The fajita plate was not heated so no sizzling... The flour tortilla is tasty. However everything else was just ok... Ingredients were not fresh and the sauces... read more

The food was amazing. We each got something different and had to try each others. The portions were big! 2 tacos were plenty to feed one person. Couldn't even eat the beans and rice we were so full. Definitely worth it.

Place has a great, casual vibe to it. The staff was great. Food and margaritas are way overpriced. The food was mediocre at best. Iv'e had much better Mexican food at half the price in many places

Both my husband and I entered the restaurant and asked to sit outside. During this time the restaurant was not busy. The hostess began to seat us at a small table against a wall. My husband asked if we could be seated at a different table and pointed to one having four chairs not next to a wall. A man... More

We have visited Alfonso's off and on ever since they opened in La Jolla. We were disappointed in the food on our latest stop, the quality didn't seem to match the past. They are moving by Oct. to the Hillcrest area. All things change.

My son and I recently ate dinner at this restaurant. We have lived in NM and spend a lot of time in Mexico, and we love Mexican food. The food was great. We enjoyed chili rellenos and enchiladas. Everything in La Jolla tends to be expensive, but this place was reasonably priced. The salsa they served with the chips was... More

We had the La Jolla burrito last night....it was fresh and had a delicious sauce....the salsa was obviously made that day and was also yummy.....the prices were fair....Andrea was our server and provided advice about our meal choices....this is a great lace to dine in La Jolla!

We have been going here on and off for years. We had visitors from Ohio in January 2015 and wanted to walk Prospect, see La Jolla village and have lunch. It was 1 pm on a weekday. Service was slow, but that was OK as we were talking. The food was uninspired and mediocre and we were embarrassed at the... More

OK, so in La Jolla prices are just higher. Don't let that stop you from enjoying a good Mexican dinner. If you are in the area, Alfonso's can dish it up. It is very unusual to find a chicken burrito with good mole sauce - Alfonso's has it. Most of the menu is fairly traditional and you can expect a... More

This restaurant is always a must do on our trip to San Diego. They have great consistent food and their carne asada is definitely one of the best! They have excellent customer service and are always friendly.
