OK, but not as good as before

We have been going here on and off for years. We had visitors from Ohio in January 2015 and wanted to walk Prospect, see La Jolla village and have lunch. It was 1 pm on a weekday. Service was slow, but that was OK as we were talking. The food was uninspired and mediocre and we were embarrassed... read more

My son and I recently ate dinner at this restaurant. We have lived in NM and spend a lot of time in Mexico, and we love Mexican food. The food was great. We enjoyed chili rellenos and enchiladas. Everything in La Jolla tends to be expensive, but this place was reasonably priced. The salsa they served with the chips was... More

We had the La Jolla burrito last night....it was fresh and had a delicious sauce....the salsa was obviously made that day and was also yummy.....the prices were fair....Andrea was our server and provided advice about our meal choices....this is a great lace to dine in La Jolla!

OK, so in La Jolla prices are just higher. Don't let that stop you from enjoying a good Mexican dinner. If you are in the area, Alfonso's can dish it up. It is very unusual to find a chicken burrito with good mole sauce - Alfonso's has it. Most of the menu is fairly traditional and you can expect a... More

This restaurant is always a must do on our trip to San Diego. They have great consistent food and their carne asada is definitely one of the best! They have excellent customer service and are always friendly.

A favorite family spot for several years. Great margaritas, good food, friendly staff, good value. Nothing to dislike.

We met friends at Alfonso's and had another great dinner. Alfonso was there to greet us as usual too. This restaurant is one of La Jolla's jewels (no pun intended) we so much appreciate a great Mexican place so close and friendly

We had lunch here this past week and were thoroughly impressed. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere was coupled with great authentic Mexican food. I had the Mexican salad with prawns and my darling had the quesdadillas. He had a Coronita which proved an entertaining and unique way to have a miniature Corona with lime juice. Highly recommended.
