One side is self-serve and the other is sit down - either way the food is tasty, hot and filling. The chips and salsa are a little weak but don't let that stop you from having your fill of tacos with almost any filling and topping you can imagine. Had to try it but I won't go back. $42.00 for... Having just arrived in La Jolla today for vacay, I was so happy I chose Puesto to have my family's first dinner. What a great start to our vacation! The ambiance is terrific, exactly what we were in the mood for - bright, modern, fun. I didn't even know about Taco Tuesday when I made the reservation but that was... More

The street tacos can't be beat. The margaritas are wonderful. The prices are pretty reasonable. The place isn't fancy but wish we had one of these restaurants in San Antonio.

During my vacation in la Jolla I went there for lunch. I had fish tacos and a salad and both were very good. The service was excellent as well. Very good experience.

We made a reservation on-line just in case (it was Saturday night), walked in an got a table immediately. The trick is to get there at 5 pm. At 5:30 pm the crowds are already waiting outside to get in. The table was more like a bar table (high) with high stools. They also had normal height tables. We sat... More

Puesto is voted one of the 'Best of La Jolla' for mexican food. We have been dying to try it because of all the great reviews and ended up disappointed after eating there. I'm not a big eater but I definitely needed the 3 for $11 to be satisfied when leaving. But the '3 for' really costs more if you... More

Really cool atmosphere at this former site of the San Diego Police Headquarters. The food was very good, they specialize in "street tacos" with an upscale bent. The tortillas, made fresh on site, were amazing. Margarita was delicious as well. They have many different types of tacos to choose from, very difficult to make a choice though with so many... More

I have been a fan of Puesto now for a couple of years. Their tacos are outstanding and always delicious. They have grown in popularity and you should make reservations if you want to dine there. Otherwise, order and pick-it up to go. Try the lobster taco and / or the Mahi Mahi.

Excellent, interesting, fun, fresh. Try the unique tacos. Good beers. Good service. Good chips and salsa. Little bit pricey for little tacos, but hey, it's La Jolla and the alternative is a $50 steak.

This isn't my first trip to Puesto but I thought I'd at least circle back since the reno next door. The place is gorgeous and I feel the change in how they service Patrons is a HUGE HUGE improvement over the previous concept of lining people up and expecting them to decipher the myriad of Menu choices. I approve of... More
