This is a great, relaxed environment to have drinks and appetizers outside. They have a great, big, gas fireplace to stare into and daydream. The drinks are good and so is the food. Check out the shrimp quesadilla.

5 Stars is all I have to say for the Mustangs and Burros restaurant in the beautiful Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. July 4th, we had made last minutes reservations and were accepted, we sat in the more casual outside dining area with the heaters (Mustangs and Burros), Our server was fantastic. Food and drinks came out with perfect... More

We took friends here last night after hearing good things about it. The setting is beautiful and different. However, that is where the good exerience ended. The wait staff is inexperienced and unprofessional. Twice they told us we were getting a different server because someone was on break or otherwise engaged. We had to flag them down for silverware, to... More

We bought our Tequila and appetizer deal on another site, but when we got there we were greeted by free Valet. The shrimp and scallops ceviche was delicious and the ambiance just as great. We sat outside and were taken care of by our server Yvonne who was beyond helpful and super sweet. We also ordered the shrimp quesadillas and... More

We just stopped in here for a late night snack- we each had the tomato bisque- it comes nicely presented with a dab of cream in the bottom of a bowl and then a pitcher with the soup - they pour the soup over the cream in the bowl. The soup was hearty and chunky- yum! I would recommend! We... More

Patrick-evening manager -was extremely gracious and hospitable-came to stay at Estancia after change of vacation plans to east coast-my husband and I were thrilled with the ambiance, quality, and over all experience at Mustangs and Burro-we didn't want to leave resort for La Jolla( George's is our usual spot) because Patrick & servers at Mustang & Burros gave us such... Wow, our server, Scott A., was so courteous, attentive, and timely that we've been forever spoiled and can't wait to return. He graciously offered wine samples as we were unfamiliar with several of the labels. Scott's service style is so genuine and is the perfect blend of friendly and professional. Our entree's were absolutely delicious. My friend raved about the... More

Atmosphere? A+ Food? A+ Outdoor dining (with heaters/fireplace)? A+ Service? A+ Met up with friends and this place was perfect for lots of chatting, great food and excellent Moscow Mules! Our server, Yvonne, was very sweet. We will definitely go back on our next San Diego visit. And it was only 1.7 miles from the the Hilton Torrey Pines so... More

Everything we tried on the menu was very good. The sweet potato fries rival the best I've had (outside Scottsdale) and our server, Tara, was quick and attentive. She suggested cinnamon with the fries and that was incredible. We also had the nachos, tomahawk pork chop, fish tacos, and steak salad. All very very good.

We went to Mustangs & Burros to celebrate a birthday (I informed them when making the reservation, but they made no acknowledgement at any point during our meal), and sat outside in a very charming patio area. As it was a beautiful Friday evening, the restaurant, both inside and outside was crowded and buzzing with activity. When we first arrived... More
