I was within walking distance of this place on business, and it was recommend to me by the people I was working with. First time I went, I ordered the 1/2 rack pork spare ribs. They were really good, in my opinion among the best ribs I have ever had. Fries were very good as well. I went again 2... More

You must find the time to come by and eat here! The food is amazing and the staff is excellent! There is an outside area that is dog friendly. There are so many choices and the sauces are so good.

Visiting with my son and we ended up here. Quaint little whole in the wall place that smelled great from the outside. Enter through the double swinging bar room doors. Place is very small with 3 tables inside and patio seating outside. The prices were reasonable and believe worth every penny. I had half chicken, beans and corn muffin. My... More

This hidden gem of a barbeque joint is vastly under-rated in my opinion. The food is excellent and, unlike most BBQ places where you get what you get in terms of spice-i-ness, Bull's serves you three different in-house BBQ sauces to try: mild, sweet, and hot. I'm a spicy food wimp, so it's really nice to be able to choose... More

You can smell the smoke from this wild west-themed bbq restaurant from a block away. The place is basic and plates and utensils are plastic. The decor is western kitsch and includes a large black bull statue at the door, photos of John Wayne, and lots of western memorabilia. The Cowboy hat wearing waitresses are friendly and solicitous, service was... More

Excellent excellent excellent! I honestly thought this place was better than Phil's! Everything was so delicious. All the sauces and the meat was just so tender just falling off the bones. I love how dog friendly they are and how they give your dog a bone!! My dog looooved it! If you check in on Yelp 3x you get a... More

Only been once and ate pork ribs, caesar salad, slaw, fries and cornbread. The ribs are very good - smoky. The dry-rub is great so the ribs are not covered in sauce. There are at least three proprietary BBQ sauces, all tomato based. The sauce with garlic is the spiciest. The original is not too sweet but a little on... More

It is not in La Jolla, about 18 min from La Jolla. It is closer to the hotel circle hotels and old san Diego than La Jolla. Close to Downtown and Marina Hotels too. I was weird to see the saloon style entrance, but inside has a nice ambiance. indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is Dog Friendly, Love my... More

I thought this place was better than Phil's. Not only was the food terrific but the service was too. I have to point out that the location is FAR from La Jolla.

The food was good, not Texas good, but good. (I will say the coleslaw with candied pecans was wonderful, I could have made a meal of a pound of that) The group was uniformly satisfied with the food and the server was very nice. Worth a trip if you are craving some BBQ and can accept a couple of steps... More
