GREAT Place on so many levels

Pros: food, service, environment, pulse, bread and sauce, the way they treat you, and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality. Great area too of la jolla This place has there act together! NO cons.

This is one of those restaurants that you'd want to keep going back either for an intimate dinning or larger gatherings. Love their Italian crusty and fresh bread with the most appetizing herbed Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar mix. I can never get enough of that dip! Super Yummy. As for their food, I have tried most of their dishes... More

I have been going to Piatti restaurant for many years. It is reliable with good food and service. The outdoor patio is a real treat. The prices are reasonable, and the location for locals is good.Don't go for lunch in the summer because you can't park anywhere due to the hordes of beach goers.

First the food, It was very good as usual. We had two kids in our party, and they were treated very well too. There was a big party going on and it was very crowded but they found room for us and made us feel important.

This is a lovely, charming location. The bar is good sized and welcoming. We arrived a little early on this busy evening. We were welcomed by a clearly busy but not frazzled hostess and we were seated right away. Our server was excellent. We got the roasted cauliflower cakes with red pepper sauce and the grilled romaine hearts with prociutto... More

We had dinner with friends at Piatti. The food is simple but excellent starting from the bread with olive oil and vinegar. Oven warmed olives were another simple and unusual appetizer along fried calamari in a light semolina batter. We had the house special of pasta with duck and mushrooms, risotto and shrimp and pasta. We had mango sorbet which... More

Our second visit and we'll be sure to return. The 3 of us dined outside on the patio under the branches of an impressive tree-lovely setting for a casual early evening. As others have posted, it is tempting to make a meal of the fresh bread and oil for dipping but the food to follow is flavorful and plentiful. We... More

Cold weather, out-of-town business guests loved it! Always do. Smart staff, creative menu, get the specials. Late lunch is also a winner.

A nice italian restaurant in La Jolla that isn't too expensive, with great quality food. As others have noted, bread and dipping oil is addictive. Had swordfish grilled with capers and was done perfectly. Will definitely return when in La Jolla again.

The place is packed and jumping with activity, nicely laid out and designed. Unfortunately the food, while enticing on the menu, fails to be flavorful when it gets to the table.
