Plain decor, outstanding food

The ambience is 1950s throwback, but that's not why you're there. The food is, and it makes you want to come back for more. Diverse menu. Our omelets were excellent. Rosemary potato sides were perfect. Service was good, and menu tempts with many interesting and tasty options.

Around a month ago, my family and I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It is a tiny little cafe, with very little seating inside and a few tables outside. There is no hostess, and you have to write your name down yourself on the waiting list. I tried to catch the waiters eye to ask him approximately... More

Family of four had a great breakfast for about $65. I had blueberry pancakes which were great. My husband had breakfast tamales and loved them. One son had eggs (hard to screw them up) and the other had a chicken pesto sandwich which liked. Wait staff was friendly, speedy, and attentive. Not a fancy place, which we like. Definitely recommend... More

We stopped in for breakfast after reading the reviews. The reviews were spot on. Food was fantastic and the service was great. Walking distance from our hotel. Food is very high end for breakfast! Awesome. Highly recommend.

This is a great place for breakfast. The food is far superior to ordinary diner breakfasts - it done with more care and with an eye towards health. Everything tasted terrific. It was so good we went back everyday for break fast. The breakfast burrito was great and definitely suggest trying the vegetarian chorizo- I am a chorizo fan and... More

We just happened upon this place for breakfast. The atmosphere is a quaint, old time, cafe that makes you feel comfortable. A place you want to linger with a good friend. The food was good with special touches. For example, cilantro and orange slice with my eggs. For a sit down, feel good restaurant, visit here.

This is a neat little place but a bit out of the way. It is sort of hidden by the hamburger joint next door. Don't let its exterior fool you. It is almost always crowded with locals. A good indication of continuing quality. The breakfasts are especially inviting.

We always make a stop to eat at the Coffee Cup when in La Jolla. The Omar Special is our favorite item on the menu. Their grilled chicken is amazing. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

When I lived in La Jolla this was a monthly stop. My friends could be called difficult to some and the coffee cup has always accommodated us. Great food with good service. Small inside area lends well to the sidewalk dinning. I will always try to stop by if I'm in the area.
