When we approached this little hole-in-the-wall, we almost kept going. But when we went in and saw the quality of the seafood displayed in the cases, we decided to stay -- and were so glad we did. It's an order at the counter place with limited seating. We got their El Pescador special, which was a salad with dunganess crab,... More

This is a very small fish market/cafe. The service was good, no complaints there. Plenty of cold filtered water with lemon, free and welcomed on hot days. The portions were gracious with there seafood, very filling. Stopped for lunch with husband and 16 yr old daughter for lunch, as it was recommended by more then 1 local. I had fish... More

12 to 16 may sit inside if lucky, but service is very good and staff very nice. Besides the famous fish-sanduiches there are nice (plastic) dishes too. Next time I'll try a dish. Very worth for a quick lunch or grab and go. Some waiting because it's fresh done.

I love this place but last Friday I brought two salmon salads home and had to throw both away. Dry, tasteless and did not smell right? I asked for the wild king from the case but got pieces that dried out on the grille before they even hit my salad?

We decided to carry out dinner from this restaurant one night after we saw the sea lions at La Jolla Cove. The local halibut was just okay and the shrimp cocktail had way too much sauce, as did the shrimp and Dungeness crab cocktail. I rate this restaurant as just okay.

went there because of the good reviews on tripadvisor and was not disappointed. they offer deli style fish on sandwiches or salad and make it fresh to your order. there are only few tables but they were all full. food was great but some of the displayed fish did not look fresh so pick carefully

This La Jolla local hide away fish joint is flat out the Best Fish sandwich, or Fish Stake or Salad place in San Diego. And trust me I've LOOKED. Its deli style service they have a few chairs inside and out, but this stuff travels great, head down to the beach with your amazing dinner. Do NOT forget a bowl... More

My family went to El Pescador for lunch. The local bass had a very strong ammonia taste(indicating the fish was decomposing) The combo sandwich shrimp and crab had almost no crab and was unremarkable. I was very disappointed considering so many give this restaurants 4 or 5 stars. We would have complained about the food but we were in a... More

I came here a few times due to the rave reviews I've been hearing from people. my experience has been hit or miss and as a whole I don't think there's anything all that great about this place. my first visit I got the fish taco to go. I waited for over half an hour until I actually got the... More

We swing by here at least 2-3 times during the summer to grab sandwiches when we are in La Jolla... they are fresh, tasty and a perfect way to eat outdoors. The line can be long and the parking is hard (that's La Jolla folks...) but it's always worth the effort. I love their tuna sandwiches but my husband always... More
