Really amazing!

We happened upon this place for lunch today. We're so happy we did. It was truly amazing! The atmosphere is nice & not too loud; they played great music. It's a restaurant & fish market. We split the combo (crab & shrimp) for appetizer and a yellowtail plate with avocado. It was plenty of food for... read more

Had the seafood burrito and a side of coleslaw. Very tasty and filling. Husband had a salad with fresh fish (don't remember what type he had but he loved it). Stopped here on our first night in La Jolla from the recommendation of the Manager of the Scripps Inn where we were staying. The friendly staff helped with our questions... More

Found this place via TA and since we were in La Jolla one must eat seafood. This is a modern casual bustling noisy place. One orders and pays at the counter and they bring it out to you. The seating is communal at large tables, some high pub style tables. Very busy so you will not get a table to... More

Was here quite some time ago, had such a good experience, was in the area, decided to go again. Ordered the ceviche, delish! Super fresh and the amount of seafood was adequate. Much better than a ceviche I had from a different place. Little pricey, but that is to be expected in la jolla.

You order at the counter, pay, grab a table, and your food arrives pretty quickly. Good beer selection. But, wow, the fish is superb, fresh and plentiful on the tin plate. We loved this place.

The restaurant came highly recommended, and at first glance has an up- scale vibe, so we were a little surprised that the meals are served on paper plates, and eaten with plastic utensils. Communal dining at the beautiful wood table was fun, but a regular wipe down between guests would be a good thing. The food? The sea bass was... More

We are living in La Jolla for the year, actually reside in Wisconsin, and one of the things I'm enjoying so much about coastal living is the fresh local seafood. El Pescador so far is my favorite seafood restaurant in town. I have avoided going to restaurants more than once so as to experience as much as this town offers... More

This new location for El Pescador, across the street from the old one on Pearl, is considerably larger and is an eat-in restaurant with a light olive green color on the outside You can't miss it.Long tables seat many people in the center of the room, with a few single tables near the windows. It is located in the heart of... This is San Diego's marine version of farm to table from the sea. A unique restaurant with an open air kitchen which stands behind a first class fish market counter, the place offers terrifically fresh fish combined with simple fresh sandwich, salad and platter options. This is a terrific lunch spot and a must stop if you are visiting La... More
