Family Italian yummy

We wanted to try someplace new. The location is near a movie theater at the end of the 2 freeway between Montrose, LaCrescenta and La Canada. The pasta was yummy. There is only one waiter so be patient if it is busy. But he took time with us. Grandma makes the deserts. The wine was delicious... read more

Our group meets once a month for lunch and we chose this one for April 2015. It is really rather a small place with one waiter so you can imagine the ambiance. There were several specials and I choose a soup and salad. I thought the soup was rather watery and nothing unusual about the salad. My friends thought their... More

Who would have thought? We drive by this place a couple of times a week and thought it was a sandwich place - I guess because it's between a theatre and a burger place. I found it completely by accident on TA and suggested to my husband that we give it a try, and we did ..... With my very... More

I only recently learned that Salvatore Attanasio had acquired this gem of a restaurant in La Canada. We had previously been well taken care of by Sal for many years at another wonderful restaurant in Pasadena. My wife and I could not have been more pleased with the lunch we recently enjoyed at Café Sole. This is real authentic Italian... More

After working many, many years for the Drago family, this native of Napoli and his family have opened their own trattoria Italiano, so typical of the trattorias you find in small towns all over Italy. This is a true family business with 3 generations participating in the daily operations. All the food and wines are excellent, specially the pizzas and... More

What an amazing restaurant, the owners are delightful, service is perfect and the food very special. We were visiting from the Uk and I wish it was our local Italian. Ambiance is very typical of what you find in small towns in Italy, rustic and friendly. A little gem will certainly be back on our next visit and every success for... More

Perfect location for lunch after the movies. The first time their special was ravioli stuffed with squash...so good I had it the next two times I was there even though I had to ask if they had it. I finally weaned myself off the ravioli to try their smoked turkey and brie sandwich, mmmm. Now I will have to make... More

Everything is good. Especially their pink sauce, the pizza is amazing! The difficult thing is deciding what to order. If you go with a group, order family style and you can get a taste of everything.

Never expected the varied menu, great service or excellent food. It was a wonderful experience and for sure a must on our next visit to La Canada.

It's been a long time since we last visited Cafe Sole. Decided to check out the small restaurant upon learning it was under new ownership. We weren't disappointed. My chicken marsala was delicious, the mixed vegetables cooked perfectly. The sole piccata drew raves as did the ravioli stuffed with butternut squash. The chicken florentine was at best acceptable. The fried... More
