Good food, good service

We ate at Lanza's since it was a short walk from our hotel in Kings Beach. It is a locally owned Italian restaurant with traditional Italian staples. Our family has been eating here for almost 40 years and the quality of food has remained amazingly consistent. It is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. I understand their eggplant Parmesan is excellent but I wouldn't know because our favorite and constant choice is their lumaconi. They are giant shells filled with ground beef, spinach and cheese, then... More

For a Sunday-night dinner, we decided to check out Lanza's Restaurant. When we arrived, at about 5:05--five minutes after the restaurant opened for dinner--there were already some tables filled. By 5:30, the restaurant was very crowded. (The restaurant doesn't take any reservations, so be prepared for a few minutes' wait.) This popular restaurant has been a North Lake Tahoe staple... More

Wonderful food, portions overwhelming but hey, that's what little white cartons are for! Waiters are very nice, very accommodating, fast and otherwise invisible--no nagging, no pushing you faster. Plain and fancy were both very good, and I'm still dreaming about the meatballs. And the Gorgonzola on the salad. Cute place, too--it looks like the little Italian bistro everyone wants to... More

We went here with a party of 21 and had no problem from staff to fit us into the comfy place, lots of booths and typical red/white table cloth settings. This place has a large menu with all the classics including some family specials that go way back, these are the ones to get because they are soo tasty! Anyway... More

Always busy here. The food is quality and the portions are huge. We always make it a point to come here when in the Tahoe area.

I went to Lanza after getting a referral and so-call discount from across the street. Plus they had a sign out that said happy hour from 4:30-6:00pm. I asked the waitress whether or not I could still get a beer with the happy hour price since I arrived at 5:00pm, she said that was only available at the bar. Quite... More

The place was very busy so parking was difficult. Once inside it was louder than expected from a busy crowd. However, service was amazing and so was the food. I ordered the penne alfredo it was out in about 12-15 minutes. Server was fast with the check and checked on us regularly. A must visit if in the mood for... More

Great salads, huge meals and great service. Everything was fresh! If you're in the north Lake Tahoe area and wanting some great Italian food, then you won't be disappointed here.

enjoy varied menu... maybe too much marinara choices vs other sauces. their eggplant was good as is their meat sauces. Wine and drinks affordable. Will probably try their pizza selections next trip. We do not eat heavy so focus on lighter fare.... Salads we fresh. They did not mind splitting dishes at all. Nice staff throughout.
