Poor quality, expensive food.

Having read the positive reviews on TA, I was keen to check this place out. I shouldn't have. Stayed here for 1 night , enough to enjoy Pingyao. It's inside the Pingyao walled city and once inside the walled city from where you came from the north side bus stop, golf cart costs about 30 yuan to the guesthouse, it's better to take taxi from Pingyao gaucheng and tell the driver to drop you off in East gate,... Try the Steamed eggplant - a classic. Drinks in the bay windows watching the crowds go by. Friendly and prompt service - free WIFI

I was traveling trough China for 35 days. I ate a lot of Chinese food in Chinese restaurant. But this is a tourist restaurant. You should pay for tea, rice, etc. In mostly of Chinese restaurant you don't have to pay for that. The food wasn't the best. I ate much better for half price Or less. Es un restaurante... More

We stayed here for two nights, and had almost all our meals in the restaurant. Breakfast is great, lots of choices, fresh juices, nice atmosphere. Lunch/dinner also great. We loved the mountain noodles, but there were so many dishes to choose from and they were all very tasty. Funny detail: you order through an ipad. Not what one would think... More

We visited this restaurant based on the TA reviews... unfortunately TA steered us wrong this time. The restaurant very much caters to western tourists, the prices and taste definitely reflected it. We ate nearly the same dishes at another restaurant across the street for half the price.... and the food was better! The food here taste a bit toned down,... More

Great breakfast but make sure to order the non-drip coffee from their fancy espresso machine. Apple pancakes (actually more like crepes) are very good, especially with some Hershey's chocolate sauce. The large portion of bacon is easily shareable.

After a couple of weeks traveling China I was craving a warm breakfast...crepes, eggs whatever... They did a really good job of a banana crepe, it hit the spot for me. We went back two or three more times for other meals as well. The local meals were equally well prepared and the beer was good as well. Probably the... More

Had a very pleasant meal here -- tasty local dishes and nice 600ml local beers at a good price. Service was friendly and helpful. Very local atmosphere. We'd read the good reviews and weren't disappointed -- short walk from the Kylin Grand Hotel.

I find the atmosphere very comfortable. The menu has English but is a bit confusing. Although Pingyao dishes are offered, some of the staples are not offered, though the ones that are available are good. Prices are a bit high, but the food is tasty. It does tend to offer food suitable for international guests. Breakfast is a bit mixed.... More
