Good food and wifi

Despite what the Lonely Planet says, the menu is not available in English. However, it is a picture menu presented on an iPad and the servers speak enough English to answer questions. This is a nice restaurant with lots of wooden tables and chairs and an old style feel. They have an iPad where you place your order - great idea other than they have only translated half the menu - you can order the other items but it's a bit of a guess as to what it is. We we're put... More

An enjoyable dinner: great food, excellent service, decent prices, cold beer, wonderful ambiance. What more can you ask for? Stopped for a beer, liked it so much decided to order dinner. Waited about 10 minutes for a window booth. The table featured an inset millstone and tiny water garden with floating leaves (do not eat the goldfish or hand wash... More

Ate here a couple of times as we were staying here. Food was always tasty with big servings. You order via an iPad, which has pictures of all the dishes, and some even have English descriptions which was very useful. Only downside is that everyone smokes in the restaurant, so if the doors are closed because of the weather, it... More

The restaurant here was very good. Service was quick, beer cold and food was very good. The Pingyao beef is like a salty corned beef and was different but very good.

As staying here decided to have dinner in, the serves were large and the food was good. Staff attentive and had a better than reasonable grasp of English. Only downside for us was that due to high winds and rain all doors were closed and every Chinese person dining was smoking. We won't eat here again as a result of... More

Stayed here with friends for two nights. Nice hostel. Clean toilets and a spacious room! We also had dinner in the restaurant which was good. Hostel is located in the centre of the ancient city of Pingyao. Would recommend to stay here!

We only ate here because we stayed at the guesthouse as part of tour but we did eat in street nearby for lunch and we found this place to have limited choice for both breakfast and dinner. But it was the most popular place and is busy. There are at least two cats that frequent the restaurant.
