I love stoping here at the hamburger stand for an ice cream cone. This place is about 15 miles from Camp James in Kernville. There is also a really cool bridge which you can walk across and get a good view of the river whilst eating your ice cream. If you want a burger or fires the hamburger stand serves... More

After a tiring day fishing for trout at kern river, our lodge attendant recommended Mcnally's for dinner. I ordered the RibEye steak, chicken tortilla soup with fries and salad. The food was fingerlicking good. The staff was very very friendly. They actually gathered around us and gave us tips for fishing the kern river. Highly recommended restaurant.

Great staff, great food and the perfect location. They also have a hamburger stand and a general store, and it's a great place to break up a camping trip!

The staff at this restaurant really goes out of their way to make sure you are happy and satisfied. They have the biggest steaks that I have ever seen, and are famous for the "40 ounce Porterhouse". It gets really lively here on the weekends, so I suggest that you arrive early, or prepare to wait. There is also a... More

Best burgers ever. The burger shack has been there many years and never disappoints. It is up river 17 miles above Kernville. Very beautiful drive along the Kern River. You can even stop a few places and camp or wet a line. At McNally's walk over the river on the suspension bridge. Make it move and enjoy the So Sierra

The good steakhouse in the middle of no where. A must stop on any scooter trip. A meeting place for road trippers with good food and good service. Mostly meat/steaks...not a hummus hut.

The menu boasted "generous portions" so we were expecting to have plenty of food to go around, We didn't leave hungry, but I definitely wouldn't have considered the portions generous. Pros: The pickles! They tasted just like the pickles my neighbor back home would make every summer. The service! One of the members of our party was on a restricted... More

Terry & Carol are the best hosts anywhere. A well stocked bar means you can enjoy your favorite beverage outdoors overlooking the river. The only other steaks of this quality I recall were in the Midwest and the homemade side dishes are ‘like Mom made’. First-rate service and friendly staff make this at least an annual occurrence. Sometimes twice a... More

As there isn't a separate entry for this, and it's on the same property, a review is in order. This is a great option during the day. Great burgers and fries. You can either order to go, or enjoy on the shaded picnic tables in front. Been coming here for years and never yet disappointed!

My husband & I had dinner there tonight. Food was excellent & service was great! Ordered our drinks and the hostess, Penny, suggested we take our cocktails out back & stroll across the Kern River bridge. I have not been to this place in 40 years. So peaceful listening to the river. Went back inside the diner as it was... More
