The breakfast daily specials are a nice way to start your day. I love their homemade orange currant scone with orange butter. Their latte's come in a nice oversized cup and saucer. We said they named the restaurant Half -Day because you can easily spend that much time waiting for a table on the weekend! Well worth the wait.

The first image of Half Day Cafe is ivy spilling over 1920's industrial windows that cover the side of the restaurant. Beautiful, the old and new. The food was terrific. The service prompt and considerate. The Benedict delicious; tomato, spinach, egg, and Hollandaise sauce. The roasted potatoes with onion, tasty and not greasy. Coffee fully flavored and my daughter's pancakes... More

Always a straight-forward, honest restaurant. We sat in the shaded patio and enjoyed an ample well-prepared brunch. Service was friendly and efficient. One can depend upon Half Day Cafe.

We almost passed up on eating at the Half Day Cafe; from the street it looks like a hole-in-the-wall dive with no parking. Then we found the parking lot that is located behind the building and our attitude changed. What a wonderful spot - large and spacious with a delightful factory/industrial feel on the inside - and beautiful patio outdoor... More

We shared the eggs benedict and the French toast, they were both delicious. We had to pay extra for real maple syrup that we really didn't need since the French toast came with a really nice 'sauce' already.

Hi all, My wife and I were in San Rafael and asked Google for a good place to eat. This restaurant was rated four stars and it easy to see why. The interior of the restaurant was open and light but we chose to sit outside on the patio which was surrounded by flowers. A fountain drowned out most of... More

I like the atmosphere. You can eat outside, and when it's sunny, it's very pleasant. Many locals and regulars. Scones are house made and very tasty. I love the "Blackened burger". They have awesome eggs: omelets and scrambles. It's always crowded, but the wait isn't long. Good parking behind the building.

Great service, rapid food preparation, acoustics amenable to having a conversation even with a full house. Staff accommodating and friendly, bathrooms immaculate. All in all a well run family business. The homemade biscuits are first rate. Don't miss this little sleeper.

enjoyed a leisurely breakfast - latte and scone, huevos rancheros and coffee. Friendly and attentive staff, good quality ingredients, good coffee. A pleasure
