I would say that this is your average American roadhouse type of place. Very friendly staff and the menu had lots to choose from. We had some burgers and onion rings. They were average. Maybe we should have tried the chicken pot pie that everyone is talking about? We would go back if we come through town again.

My wife and I visited Julian, Ca. last week and stopped into the Rongbranch Restaurant for lunch. The Rongbranch features a wide range of menu items from, Bumsteer BBQ, to Burgers, Salads, Steaks, and famous and delicious Julian Apple Pie for dessert. Dolores our server explained all the items on the menu, and suggested the Chicken Pot Pie, and the... More

Great country feel in town restaurant where they have the best chicken pot pie! The fried chicken is also very good!

One must try its chicken pot pie--the flaky crust is made to perfection, and it has large chunks of moist chicken. The service is exceptionally friendly and sincere.

We had a late dinner on our way back home after exploring the Julian area, and enjoyed ourselves. They were telling us about plans they had to start up dinner performances. Don't know if they did, but we will check them out next time we are in the area.

I ordered the pulled pork. It was tasty but needed more barbecue sauce. The fries were good. Apple pie was excellent. Service was good. Julian was very quiet on a weekday in summer. Not all of the shops were open.

The fried dill pickles were not very good. My salad was large but not as good as most places. The food server was friendly and attentive.

Tourists visit here due to location... Not the best in Julian. Plain Jane and not consistent in taste.

This place has great hamburgers! Every time I am in Julian, I swing by and get a burger here. Their chicken livers are good too.

The restaurant is spacious and the service warm and friendly. The food is good old fashioned comfort food. I love their coffee. My daughter loves their tater skins.
