Description: The epicenter of Sonoma Coast dining...the River's End is located in the quaint village of Jenner by the Sea about 20 minutes north of Bodega Bay. The restaurant is set on a bluff overlooking the Russian River spill into the Pacific Ocean. During lunch you can watch the Osprey dive in the river for fish or the harbor seals frolic at riverside. Dinner time is all about the sunset ... the show is worth the visit. Fortunately, the restaurant chefs and service staff aim to outdo the natural surroundings. The kitchen prepares California cuisine with a focus on local ingredients. Chef Martin Recoder prepares menus that are changing with the seasons and delight the heart. The service staff is led by Maitre d'/Owner Bert Rangel, who has owned and managed the restaurant for over 10 years. The Chef in the Redwood Bar is talented Patrick Keane. Trained at the French Culinary Institute, Patrick utilizes the freshest ingredients and classic techniques to create truly “Artisanal Cocktails”.

We stopped here for lunch while touring the area. We both had the fish and chips which was really tasty and the view of the ocean from the restaurant was superb. Allso went out on the deck and took some pictures of the Russian River emptying into the ocean. Was recommended by a family member and I would definitely recommend... More

Visited for a special occasion and the food was great, as was the view. We particularly enjoyed their spectacular wild mushroom soup. But the cost of the dinner was probably not quite worth the high prices as living near San Francisco, we know where to go for similar food at more reasonable prices.

Excellent service and food. This is a must stop at least once when in this area. We had a light lunch that was scrumptious and very well presented. A little pricey but worth every penny.

After enjoying Armstrong Redwood park (BTW, it is a MUST visit place if there), we decided to drive to the coast while visiting that area. Looking for place to stop for a late lunch, we found this restaurant which from outside didn't look that much. We were WRONG! Such a breaktaking view from where we were seated, such a delicious... My husband and I got to the Jenner area fairly late on a Thursday evening. We decided to go to the River's End restaurant, we arrived a quarter past 8. Their posted closing time was 9pm. The hostess happily sat us at a table and we were immediately served ice water and fresh baked bread. We ordered our food, while... More

You will not be disappointed in the view, the atmosphere, the food or the coziness. We could not get enough of the view and the magic of the river dumping into the ocean. The service was a bit slow, but you don't go here to be in a hurry. You can relax with a drink on the balcony overlooking the... More

When we were here they were featuring a fresh salmon menu. I had the Salmon Chowder and an Heirloom Tomato Salad with a balsamic reduction. Sounds basic, it was anything but! Sooooo good! Best salmon chowder ever! And of course, the view is just amazing.

The view here is simply spectacular of the Russian River meeting the Pacific. We had the riverside corner table in the patio, reserved by a friend. We watched the fog come and go, then leave as we enjoyed a wonderful lunch along with a nice wine. The staff was very helpful and his suggestions turned out to be wonderful. It's... More

This was our first visit to the coast of California. We chose this restaurant based on previous TripAdvisor reviews. It did not disappoint! We reserved a table months in advance to be guranteed a wonderful view. We had the table at the corner of the patio overlooking where the Russian River dumps in to the Pacific Ocean. It was a... My wife and I own a vacation home in the tiny town of Anchor Bay, about twelve miles north of the Mendocino county line, which is demarcated by the Gualala River. We often pick a place for lunch on the way up. Since we hadn't eaten at the River's End in a long time (around 20 years), we decided to... More
