Description: The epicenter of Sonoma Coast dining...the River's End is located in the quaint village of Jenner by the Sea about 20 minutes north of Bodega Bay. The restaurant is set on a bluff overlooking the Russian River spill into the Pacific Ocean. During lunch you can watch the Osprey dive in the river for fish or the harbor seals frolic at riverside. Dinner time is all about the sunset ... the show is worth the visit. Fortunately, the restaurant chefs and service staff aim to outdo the natural surroundings. The kitchen prepares California cuisine with a focus on local ingredients. Chef Martin Recoder prepares menus that are changing with the seasons and delight the heart. The service staff is led by Maitre d'/Owner Bert Rangel, who has owned and managed the restaurant for over 10 years. The Chef in the Redwood Bar is talented Patrick Keane. Trained at the French Culinary Institute, Patrick utilizes the freshest ingredients and classic techniques to create truly “Artisanal Cocktails”.

Our family was in Sonoma only for 4 days and we did not plan much in advance. We stayed in Healdsburg and started asking around for a cool place to try for lunch. River's End was recommended at one of the local wine shops as a "great view location" and for some reason we assumed that the place would be... More

We have been to the Rivers End on so many occasions .. this is an absolutely spectacular restaurant! The location is incredible and the food is not to miss.. Sunset at the rivers end is always a gift! This is where we chose to have our intimate post wedding gathering, the staff, management, Chef and especially our waiter Rick made... More

Wife took me there for birthday and it was one of the best meals we have had. The view is amazing. We had a beet salad that was amazing. It was multi colored beets with goat cheese and nuts and other spices. Soooo yummy. Then I had the sea bass and wife had shrimp and pasta in a truffle cream... More

First, the view of the ocean with large rocks out in the water is incredible. Second the food is very fresh and delicious. We had a crab cake appetizer, then my wife ordered the fish & chips, while I had the prawns with pasta. We paired the food with a bottle of Hook & Ladder gerwertztraminer. Service was very pleasant... More

We had a tasting menu of local Dungeness crab and it was excellent and a nice variety of foods using the crab. We got the wine pairings to go along and it was nice that the wines were all local from Napa and Sonoma. The service was great, and our server was very friendly and upbeat. Would definitely return when... More

Jenner is awesome and this place fits perfectly. Service is excellent, food very good (i had fish tacos, husband lamb burger), & the view is amazing. You must stop here on your way to . . . wherever your heart is wandering :)

I don't usually write this, but we DID have one of the best meals ever. We are not even big on Dungeness Crab but they had this whole special holiday set dinner with 5 Crab-inspired dishes and it was AMAZING. Just fabulous in every way. Lunch is awesome there too.

Spent an amazing winters afternoon here with our family. Great service and amazing coastal and water views with the setting sun created an amazing afternoon. dinges crab cakes and local wines and beers topped a wonderful day on the Pacific NW coast. We had the front window table in the front room. Gorgeous views, but we needed to wear our sun glasses. In the main dinning room they have special blinds that shade the sun, but don't obscure the view. It was decorated for the holidays, and was quite beautiful. Two of my companions ate the sea bass, which was very good.... More

How many times has the wine steward sniffed the cork of your wine purchase and decided the wine wasn't good enough, and we should send it back? Well, that happened here --the first time during many visits here. Another reason to come here , in addition to the creative food and wonderful view...My two traveling companions split the dungeness crab... More
