The epicenter of Sonoma Coast dining...the River's End is located in the quaint village of Jenner by the Sea about 20 minutes north of Bodega Bay. The restaurant is set on a bluff overlooking the Russian River spill into the Pacific Ocean. During lunch you can watch the Osprey dive in the river for fish or the harbor seals frolic at riverside. Dinner time is all about the sunset ... the show is worth the visit. Fortunately, the restaurant chefs and service staff aim to outdo the natural surroundings. The kitchen prepares California cuisine with a focus on local ingredients. Chef Martin Recoder prepares menus that are changing with the seasons and delight the heart. The service staff is led by Maitre d'/Owner Bert Rangel, who has owned and managed the restaurant for over 10 years. The Chef in the Redwood Bar is talented Patrick Keane. Trained at the French Culinary Institute, Patrick utilizes the freshest ingredients and classic techniques to create truly “Artisanal Cocktails”.

Lots of people visited with us on the patio while we waited for our dinner to arrive. Food was a bit overpriced, but there were very few restaurants to visit in the area. View was awesome and we arrived without a reservation. Parking is minimal at best.

The food was so good we had to go back again the next day. Since we were traveling we didn't have wine but they feature more than 125 Sonoma County wines. Surprisingly adept chef for such a small location. Highly recommend joining here.

My husband and I dined here for lunch on an excursion to tour all of Sonoma County. The view was like a painting - ask for a window seat. Best beet salad I've had. While the menu sounded amazing, we went a little lighter since it was lunch. The fish tacos were great. But, they could've fed me a bologna... More

We finally had the chance to stop and dine here. We absolutely loved it! We were here just as the wild salmon season started so we had their AMAZING salmon soup, salmon crudo, pork and pearls, and duck confit salad. The salmon crudo had a lovely citrus vinegrette; the I-need-to-come-back-tomorrow-for-this soup was not too creamy and had a slight kick... More

I have eaten here once before and it was excellent. This time I ordered the Chef Special - King Salmon. First bite, two bones the size of half a toothpick. Second bite, three more bones. Called the Waitress over, showed her the bones and she took it back. No explanation. She returned and told me to order something else. When... More

It's true. This place is wonderful. And the staff is ridiculously accommodating. That said, the food is really rich, but completely delicious and spare enough that one will not explode. The desserts are silly amazing. You don't always get to eat in cozy wonder while the waves break in front of you, the great wide Pacific in front of you,... More

A restaurant like we love, nice, clean, with good things to eat and drink. No comment on the view, which is absolutely perfect!

We hadn't been here in quite a while, so decided to take a ride and have lunch here. We both had the salmon, which was on a special menu, but the waiter said we could have it. The special was a 4 course meal, which takes about 2 hours, and we didn't have that much time. The salmon was cooked... More

This place is fantastic, the food, the wine, the service, everything. If you want a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life I recommend having a dinner at this place and getting a place to stay deep in the woods nearby.
