Great English Tradition

It seems that every place you go for dinner they serve Prime Rib. Most places are average at doing it right. Well, take heart Gullivers has saved the day. I like this place. Classy food and never a disappointment. Service is friendly and the manager is always there checking up on things and welcoming the guests. I am not sure if he ever sleeps. Every time we are there he is there too. Very friendly and welcoming to all. We have been coming here for years!!! The atmosphere is... More

Went to this old favorite for the first time in years to celebrate the Christmas season with friends. This was the place we used to spend all our special occasions but haven't been in a while and now I remember why. I had the Gulliver cut of prime rib with the regular creamed spinach, creamed corn, and Yorkshire pudding with... More

I went to this restaurant after landing at John Wayne Airport - It's right across the street. It plays on a British motif, but really doesn't offer much to distinguish itself. The service was passable, the food was the same.

Gulliver's certainly is the place to go for the Christmas holidays. The decorations and the hearty food make it fun. We were a party of 7 friends, five had the Gulliver's cut prime rib, the obvious entrée to order here. It is accompanied by creamed spinach, all you can eat creamed corn and Yorkshire pudding. The crusty bread is good,... More

We have eaten here on and off for about 30 years, at every opportunity. The food is excellent, superb. Even if this menu isn't a common set of fare on your palate you will not be able to put down your fork or ever forget your meal. The ambience is often imitated but other restaurants are pale flattery in comparison.... More

I don't really enjoy steak so when my friend suggested going here I was prepared to not enjoy my meal. What a nice surprise. I love pork chops and order them frequently. It is very easy for them to be dry. These were done perfectly. So moist with a wonderful smoky flavor. The sauce it was served with was also... More

Once we were finally served, two of the four prime ribs at our table were filled with sinews and a good deal of fat.

Went for a business lunch and had the prime rib. It was rather mediocre, as were the sides that accompanied it. Flemings is so much better, it is a sin to mention them as a comparison.

Three of the five in the party ordered prime rib. How can you make prime rib tough and stringy? But they did. This was a HUGE and EXPENSIVE disappointment. Most of the prime rib stayed on the plate because it was uneatable. The cream corn was barely warm. I had the ribs which were mediocre and pretty tasteless. The waiter... More
