A friend described Lucca as a Santa Monica restaurant in Irvine. Interesting, changing menus, well-sized (not humungous) portions, top notch wine list for those who care. Been there for lunch and dinner. They only do brunches on weekends, now.

A co-worker and I came here for a lunch recently; first time in over a year. We were seated very quickly, and got one of the few small tables left, which was in a closely-spaced part of the interior. Lucca is very popular, so it fills up fast … and gets noisy. Next time, I’m going to get a seat... More

Since I was on a business trip, I splurged. I dined alone, had a half glass of italian wine,a single cheese sampler, two tapas plates and dessert....that came to over $40. A little higher than I would like if I had been paying. Of all the items, I think the wine and the dessert were overpriced. I sat on the... More

Good place for lunch with friends. Nice glassed in patio. Fresh ingredients. Vegan friendly - got a Kale salad. Great great service. Delicious brownie with berries for their birthday dessert.

A busy but comfortable restaurant with excellent service, food and ambiance. The beer and wine selection was good and the seating was spacious even though lots of servers were coming and going. A favorite for our Irvine friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wednesday evening during OC Restaurant Week. Not crowded, sat in the glass enclosed patio area with overhead heaters. Very pleasant and quiet, great place to actually have a conversation. Salads were fresh with walnuts and cheese, not overly dressed. Nice wine selection with a range of prices and some different selections. Wife had the Land and Sea, a small combination... More

A hotspot for business lunches, Lucca Cafe is a trendy place with knowledgeable staff who can pair the perfect wine with your meal selection. An authentic Italian flare gives both the food and the atmosphere an edge over other local cafes. I can't wait to go back!

Rotating menu of dishes from Italy, Spain and Southern Europe. Medium sized portions, well prepared. Fine selection of cheeses and wine parings. Dishes served as prepared for individual guests, so service may be erratic. Kobe sliders and John Dory are interesting choices. Reservations recommended ....

Come here for the brunch (eggs in purgatory is a great choice). Dinner can be pricey and for us, was not very memorable. Great cheese and wine selection though (but again, pricey).
