2 Excellent Meals

Picked up dinners after checking into hotel nearby where the gentleman at the desk recommended Campanario's. Food was fresh and delicious- even the mahi which I often hesitate to order. Servings were generous too. Went for breakfast the next morning and enjoyed perfectly cooked eggs. My husband... read more

Large portion combo plate.. Chile Verde was tender and flavorful some of the most authentic and best I've had. The beans had a lot of cheese on top but they were excellent. Rice is tradition Mexican almost white not spanish kind thats red, but grea. The shredded beef taco meat lacked flavor but was juicy and tender. The corn tortillas... More

We selected this restaurant after reading about it in the AAA southern California tour guide. The selections are authentic Mexican food, the service is fantastic and the food tasted great. Many locals walked in sat down and ordered without even looking at the menu. They knew the selections and obviously ordered their favorites. We will be back when in Indio,... More

Someone recommended this place to us and I was skeptical when we got there at lunchtime and literally three people were in the place. Sadly, this is authentic Mexican food which has no flavor or character....it's just very cheap. The guac was so so, the salsa was awful, and the burritos/tacos we had were average at absolute best. Just not... More

I researched this restaurant through tripadvisor and we were not disappointed in the least. Mid-afternoon visit had excellent service, hot food, great salsa, and superb main dishes. This is where the locals suggest and I understand why...great food and great service.

We had lunch at El Campanario recently and remembered eating at it a few years ago. It was better than we remembered. Our shrimp enchiladas with green sauce, the tamales, the chile rellenos were all excellent. The ceviche and guacamole and margaritas before the meal were also very good. Our server was delightful and service was prompt. What more could... More

One of the best places in the desert to have Mexican food. I don't know a lot about ordering Mexican food, but I can tell you our party of 5 have been there many times and ordered almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.

Nice ambiance, good traditional foods, friendly staff. A little tricky to find the entrance but worth the find.
