Everything in the restaurant is pleasing to the senses once you walk in. The decor, the Mexican music, the lighting etc. They have a variety of combo platters, caldos, and molcajetes. Great full bar and drink choices. We particularly enjoyed the Molcajete Ranchero, everything was so flavorful. We enjoyed the red sauce very much. Our female server was a little... More

This little family restaurant has the best Mexican food that I have had in a long time. Just close my eyes and I'm south of the border!. Enjoyed it so much for dinner, came back the next morning for breakfast.

Stopped in for lunch and had a very good meal. The menu selection was large and had many choices that you do not get at a lot of other Mexican Restaurants. Great tasting and served prompt and correctly. Very large portions. The chips, salsa and guacamole dips were fantastic. I almost ate the whole bowl of guacamole by myself. Prices... More

Let us remember that this is within spitting distance of Palm Desert folks. The area around it may be best described as post-industrial and the interior is definitely cavernous-70's-Denny's-style but the service is very welcoming and the food is tasty, fresh and plentiful, not to mention reasonably priced. They were even very kind and accommodating to our well-behaved pooch on... More

So I got a haircut the other day and asked the lady cutting my hair what was the best Mexican restaurant in Coachella Valley. She lived in Indio and, without hesitation, recommended El Campanario. I have been to Mexicali and Mexicali II and Rincon Norte and a few others but had never heard of this place. It is difficult to... More

If I like the taco salad, I like the restaurant. This one was very good. My husband had fajitas that he liked very much. We were there for a late lunch so it wasn't busy and service was good. The staff was friendly. We will go there again when we are in the area.

Yes, it's hard to find (and to make matters worse, the sign on the building is almost impossible to see at night). But worth the trip. There are lots of Mexican restaurants in the valley, but I would highly recommend this one. It feels like a family run restaurant, with all of the friendliness and quirks that go with that.... More

As others have said not easy to find!! Big open restaurant with lots of choice on the menu and some hilarious spelling mistakes. Service was friendly if a bit confused, three people tried to take our drink orders and then it took a long time to get the bill. My wife had a chicken dish (can't remember the name!) and... More
