Might Be Worth A Second Visit...But Without The Noise

We arrived on a Thursday night at about 6 P.M. The place is so small we almost drove by it. One long table had six or eight diners. Two other tables were occupied by four diners each, and there were perhaps four other customers. We sat at a table near the far wall away from both televisions... read more

This place is the classic hole in the wall...next to the train tracks. While I confess to not being a big fan of Mexican food, this place is a notable exception. The place is very small, maybe a dozen tables, but is very, very popular with the knowledgeable locals. As others have noted, the shrimp stuffed peppers are unique and... More

Don't let the location or curb appeal stop you. Very quaint, the service is terrific and the food is really good. One of my favs the shrimp stuffed peppers! So good! Don't miss it!

One of the best Mexican meals I've ever had. Good food in a super friendly atmosphere. The best guacamole you'll ever have .... Made right at your table. I could have eaten the whole bowl by myself with the homemade tortilla chips as my main course!! Everything I have tried so far, on the menu, has been good.

Authentic food with authentic flare. We tried this restaurant out of the blue. One table left, with many coming after us. We relied on the waitress for our meal choices and weren't disappointed. The stuffed yellow peppers were awesome and the waitress taught us how to eat them. Live music (fri, sat) was terrific. All the staff were terrific, but... More

Family run place. Friendly bustling with great food and service. Not to miss...,yellow banana peppers stuffed with baby shrimp. Douse em with lemon, soy sauce (lots of Chinese settled in Mexicali) and a dab of mayo , sounds odd but you must try them. We had excellent Margaritas, Chile Verde and short ribs.

Just a small place that has great authentic and unusual mexican food. Definitely worth going to. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The Chiles Gueritos are fabulous!

the food was very good, the portions excellent and the speed of the kitchen was awesome....but all that was spoiled by the complete lack of smiles, warmth, interest, care or basic customer service. Don't get me wrong, what we ordered was delivered accurately and quickly but we felt we were an unwelcome intrusion into their day....yes THEIR.....not just our server... More

This is the place for authentic local Mexican food. It's not fancy, and yes you will know it when a train goes by but this is THE place for Mexican food in the area. Locals will drive cross town for Chiles Gueritos Rellenos de Camarón - it is amazing!!!

On the north side of Indio Blvd, the only place next to the train tracks. Shakes when the trains go by. It is small inside, but they have extended the seating by creating a new space out of an outdoor patio which has been enclosed. Good home style Mexican food.
