Made reservations in advance because of all the hoopla. Good thing too because we were there Halloween weekend. Packed. The town was a buzz with ghouls and gobblins of all size, shape and age. A great surprise - we did not know about the trick or treat parade. Anyway - our food was delicious but unevenly warm/cold. They were so... more

We recently visited Idyllwild for a relaxing weekend getaway, and, upon checking into our Bed & Breakfast, we inquired about a dinner suggestion. Without hesitation, Cafe Aroma was the first place recommended. We headed up there at 6:00ish on a Friday night in October, and, although we didn't have reservations, we got a great table on the outdoor patio. The... more

Cafe Aroma is one of those places that is so unique, so full of personality and character (and quite often, characters) that it is easy to overlook the fact that it is also a very good restaurant. Finding such a dynamic, varied spot tucked away in the mountains, in the otherwise sleepy retreat town of Idyllwild is a very pleasant... more

As you get closer to the restaurant you can smell the aroma. When we went, there was a live band which was awesome. The food was just unbelievable! We got this fresh bread which you dip in this amazing simple sauce of olive oil and garilc. Delicious! The ravioli was the best I've ever had. The whole atmosphere was open... more

My husband and I had dinner at Cafe Aroma on 6/20/2009. The food is awesome!! I recommend the Linguine Cardinale and you gotta try the Tiramisu. From what I overheard the chef went through culinary school and then was in Italy for a year. Their take on Italian cuisine is phenomenal. This place gets quite busy so definately recommend reservations... more

The second year we celebrated my Birthday at the Cafe Aroma and as usual it was wonderful. It's often difficult to choose an entree with so many choices so I tried the "Pork Shank Osso Buco" which was delicious and not skimpy. Their wine selection would satisfy anyone but this time my selections were over the top thanks to Lori.... more

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere; a chilly night was warmed with heat lamps and owner provider thick blankets for all outside seating. We were moved inside the warm envions of a dining room after finishing our hors d-oeuvres and before our main course was served. The food was excellent!! The service was very friendly. People came wearing... more

The food was excellent. My wife enjoyed the chicken ravioli florentine and thought the garlic bisque was to die for. I had the ravioli olio, which was superb. The restaurant is small (and oddly divided into two separate rooms in separate buildings), but very charming. The service was great. We had heard that this was a busy place so we... more

A very nice restaurant with great staff, cosy dining rooms and very satisfying food. To find an unpretentious place like this in California, especially up a pretty mountain, was a welcome surprise. The chef is efficient, skilled and has good taste. The wines we tried were good and reasonably priced. A somewhat sad looking display of stodgy desserts, on a... more
