Description: TripAdvisor's #1 Rated Restaurant in Idyllwild for 2014 Working in tandem...
TripAdvisor's #1 Rated Restaurant in Idyllwild for 2014 Working in tandem with amazing culinary talent, some of which have gone on to The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, NY and Le Cordon Bleu, the Aroma kitchen team uses classic recipes infused with unique, original ingredients, to create beautiful dishes with French, Nuevo Latino, Asian and SoCal influences. Cafe Aroma proudly supports our local farmers, wineries and brewers and features fresh, organic, and sustainable products, along with vegetarian and gluten free options. A unique bistro-gallery experience, featuring some of Idyllwild's most well-known and accomplished artists, featured in two-month, rotating exhibits. Idyllwild's hippest and funkiest dining establishment, Cafe Aroma is the hot spot on "The Hill." Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, along with great snacks and desserts and an assortment of bottled micro-brews and local, artisan wines, indoors or out, on our free Wi-Fi enabled patio deck, the inspiration of Cafe Aroma's "accidental owner" for the last 12 years, Hubert Halkin. Hubert's list of deeds is long, including being an Idyllwild resident for many years, Professor Emeritus and Department Chair of Mathematics at UCSD, a mean bridge player, and all around groovy Frenchman. Not to mention...You won't believe what he can demonstrate table-side with a straw and your Osso Bucco bone! Music is one of the cafe's cornerstones, and features an amazing array of talented musicians, known locally, regionally and nationally. It's no wonder that, among musicians, Cafe Aroma's outdoor stage is known as the Madison Square Garden of Idyllwild! The community of Idyllwild is an eclectic collection of souls, comprised of entrepreneurs, artists of every flavor, hipsters and church-goers, authors and meditators, some really cool, old school jazz cats, and a few belly dancers and ballerinas. Cafe Aroma is the gathering place for everyone, the place to "see and be seen" and features the most dog-friendly patio around. Restaurant, Art Gallery, Social Club and a Home Away From Home...If your home was this cool!

Great people, great music in the morning - just a wonderful breakfast experience. We were there with the family and just made the start of our stay in Idyllwild perfect.

The Cafe Aroma has indoor and outdoor dining. We happened to be there mid-week and they had live music on the patio. Musicians were excellent. Played jazz and appropriate dinner music although we had to sit in an enclosed area by the patio so we could talk over the sound. This appeals after a day of sight-seeing, hiking or shopping... Hands down the best restaurant in town! None of the other local restaurants even compare to the amazing food here. Cafe Aroma has great food, service and atmosphere. Try to go a night when there's a band playing on their newly renovated deck. I highly recommend the blue pine salad!

Loved the location, and the design of the restaurant-multi level with great views of the surroundings-almost felt like being in a big treehouse. A fun place to eat. Food was ok, nothing special, lots of pasta and sauce dishes.

Good service and food that was fresh and well priced. We actual ate here for dinner and lunch. Live entertainment during lunch was relaxing and a nice change of pace from the hustle bustle of Orange County "same old same old" food in Irvine. Just watch out for the fur monster! Idyllwild, has it own version of big foot.

Yes it is that good. The food is great. We had two of their ravioli dishes...as good as you will get in the big city. Wine selection could be better, but it is a bit remote. The French Toast ala mode for dessert, that's right dessert, can't be missed, so save some rum. We love live music and in in... More

We ate a late lunch here one day and came back for breakfast on another day. This is the place to be it seems here in town. The service was great, friendly people and great fresh food. The coffee was amazing and I could come back to sit enjoy coffee and live music any day and not complain. The fruit... More

We stopped by Cafe Aroma for lunch because of recommendations from friends and we were glad we did. We were there for a late lunch and, not surprisingly Cafe Aroma was out of several interesting items. However that was fine with us because what we ordered was wonderful. I ordered a simple breakfast dish: two eggs with upside mashed browns.... More

Sean and I have been coming to Idylwild for hiking. But this is the 1st time we tried "Cafe Aroma". The "Pine Woods Resort" where we stayed, suggested we try it. Since the resort is great, we took their suggestion. We were not let down! The plates are huge! They don't have full alcohol license, but wines, beer and a... More
