We have always had great service and really good food. This time was a bit of a let down, just a bit. Food fell a little short of being as great. Service was also down a bit. The duo who played on the patio were amazing the ambiance was great too. Its a great spot and we always enjoy it... More

Where have I been? First time at Cafe Aroma, had a fabulous brunch before the Idyllwild Summer Author Series featured on Sundays. Great outdoor seating under the trees, no bugs either. Jazz band was playing, pretty lively with people sitting outside, inside and at the bar. Nothing fancy, but the food is great. Fresh vegetables, great cheeses, unique menu items.... More

We had a wonderful dining experience at this very popular spot. We made a reservation which is probably a must do on a week end. The place was packed with folks but not in an overwhelming way. They have a small and quaint inside dining room but also a large outdoor patio for dining under the stars. The Saturday evening... More

But I have to say, the best of Idyllwild is not necessarily the best of LA, or the best of some urban center. The food was good, well-priced, and the service was decent. And from our experience at other restaurants in town, probably top of the heap. But not a five-star place...

I was in this small town for three days, and found myself drawn back here more than once. The food was nicely prepared, fresh, and nice flavor combinations. With me atmosphere goes a long way as well, and I found it so relaxing, and such pleasant staff. The menu offered good dishes for most tastes and diet choices.

We love to drive up and just have dinner at this place!! The chef is AMAZING!! Sit outdoors on the patio and smell the pines. Enjoy the entertainment they have on some evenings. Food is creative upscale Italian?? Good sauces other than the normal red! Many good wine choices. Pets welcome on the patio also. Homemade bread is a MUST!!... More

This is the best restaurant in town, so you may need reservations. We sat outside and loved our meal, which consisted of just the basic house salad, a bottle of good wine, and simple spaghetti with meatballs. Plus we split an order of the mushrooms, which I strongly recommend. Great service and live jazz! This is remarkable to find in... More

We thought this would be a great place because of the reviews, but we should have listened to the locals. My husband and I only ordered appetizers and wine and the bill came to $85 before the tip! The portions were really small and the server must have been a local high schooler. He came to the table when we... More

Just a perfect Anniversary meal with a perfect setting! Jazz and good food can't beat that! I want to go there again soon.

We've spent a week in Idyllwild each of the last three years and always make it a point to come here. Restaurant choices aren't vast but Cafe Aroma would probably make our list almost anywhere. We called for reservations, always advisable, and were seated at an outdoor table on their delightful tree shaded porch at some distance from the musicians,... More
