Description: TripAdvisor's #1 Rated Restaurant in Idyllwild for 2014 Working in tandem...
TripAdvisor's #1 Rated Restaurant in Idyllwild for 2014 Working in tandem with amazing culinary talent, some of which have gone on to The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, NY and Le Cordon Bleu, the Aroma kitchen team uses classic recipes infused with unique, original ingredients, to create beautiful dishes with French, Nuevo Latino, Asian and SoCal influences. Cafe Aroma proudly supports our local farmers, wineries and brewers and features fresh, organic, and sustainable products, along with vegetarian and gluten free options. A unique bistro-gallery experience, featuring some of Idyllwild's most well-known and accomplished artists, featured in two-month, rotating exhibits. Idyllwild's hippest and funkiest dining establishment, Cafe Aroma is the hot spot on "The Hill." Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, along with great snacks and desserts and an assortment of bottled micro-brews and local, artisan wines, indoors or out, on our free Wi-Fi enabled patio deck, the inspiration of Cafe Aroma's "accidental owner" for the last 12 years, Hubert Halkin. Hubert's list of deeds is long, including being an Idyllwild resident for many years, Professor Emeritus and Department Chair of Mathematics at UCSD, a mean bridge player, and all around groovy Frenchman. Not to mention...You won't believe what he can demonstrate table-side with a straw and your Osso Bucco bone! Music is one of the cafe's cornerstones, and features an amazing array of talented musicians, known locally, regionally and nationally. It's no wonder that, among musicians, Cafe Aroma's outdoor stage is known as the Madison Square Garden of Idyllwild! The community of Idyllwild is an eclectic collection of souls, comprised of entrepreneurs, artists of every flavor, hipsters and church-goers, authors and meditators, some really cool, old school jazz cats, and a few belly dancers and ballerinas. Cafe Aroma is the gathering place for everyone, the place to "see and be seen" and features the most dog-friendly patio around. Restaurant, Art Gallery, Social Club and a Home Away From Home...If your home was this cool!

This restaurant is so cleverly designed and welcoming! The menu is somewhat different from boring places. The homemade breads with fresh cut garlic in olive oil is to die for. Had the Penne and Egg Scrambled for breakfast and was in heaven. So delicious and flavorful. My companions raved about their choices. Coffee was delicious and nice alcohol selections also.... More

On a day trip to Idyllwild we stopped here for a bit of lunch. We sat down to freshly made bread with a small bowl of fresh cut garlic in olive oil which was a nice treat. Our sandwiches were on fresh rolls. I opted for a Caprese Sandwich with fresh basil and tomatoes while my husband had a Sausage... More

My husband and I made a day trip to Idyllwild from Palm Springs- the manager at our hotel recommended we go. We used Trip Advisor to choose our lunch spot- Cafe Aroma is #1. My husband ate the breakfast machine which was hearty, tasty and quite satisfying. I had the polenta pie which was extremely good. The tomato sauce was... More

It's a popular place, so there was a wait. The food was good and service was fair, because it was busy.

Quaint and tasty. We came here on our first night in town. The food was good and the live performer was a nice touch. Best bread and garlic olive oil ever!

My in laws recently acquired a cabin in Idyllwild and let us use the cabin for a nice weekend away. Cafe Aroma was highly recommended to us. So on our last morning in town we decided to have a nice breakfast before we left. We arrived at the cafe and waited at the hostess table. And waited. And waited. One... More

Camping at a local Camp ground and my wife used Yelp to find this Cafe. Great service with a friendly smile. They had a live Flamenco band making the ambiance nice and relaxing. I ordered the Salmond BLT, it is the house specialty. The BLT was so good and I recommend it if you like Salmond. Me and my son... More

Cafe Aroma has recently remodeled its outside deck, it's beautiful! Food is consistently good, but somewhat limited by a very small kitchen;good planning allows Aroma to creatively use the same ingredients in multiple entres and meal times. Great wines, great coffee and great atmosphere!
