I think most Hilton hotels have very average food and this is no exception. But they also had a DJ playing which was very loud and music I don't enjoy. There was no way you could have heard the ocean but then there is also the 4-lane-freeway that separates you from the beach. It could be nice but it's not.

It's a great stop for happy hour even if you are a local. The menu confused us at first as it's an iPad but no one explained if we order on there or just browse. But it has some great appetizers that are a tad on the foody side but worth it if you feel like more than potato skins,... More

We enjoyed eating here every breakfast and dinner instead of eating in the room or going out. Good service and good food. We didn't have to walk to far too eat. The view and atmosphere was beautiful. The price was a little too high $22 for breakfast buffet and $36 for filet mignon for dinner.

We normally don't like to go to hotel restaurants, preferring to get out and explore whatever local character is available, but on this night we were too tired to go out. We were very glad we did, this restaurant was very good. Atmosphere was comfortable and casual. Service was extra friendly and helpful. Food presentation and taste were excellent. Wine... More

We ate here twice for lunch during our stay at this Hilton, and once for breakfast. They have a lot of indoor seating with a large bar, but we sat outside by the pool area for both of our lunches. I loved their fish tacos! Also, the turkey club was so good--order the fruit with it, there was a lot... More

If you're going to eat at a hotel restaurant instead of venturing out, this isn't a bad option. Menu is innovative and a little quirky (that's a positive), management is great, bartenders are knowledgable and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. AM buffet is a bit pricey but good; haven't done the $50 Sunday brunch yet.

Most hotel restaurants are either known for being high end or are just ok given that the traffic isn't always guaranteed unless you are on the Vegas Strip. Shades is just an ok restaurant. I had dinner here the first night of my conference and ordered the Caesar Salad with Steak done medium well and hold the croutons (for gluten... More

Wonderful service, very attentive and clean. Food at buffet was continuously restocked. Plentiful hot and cold selections available. Menu was extensive with a few local offerings.
