Great ambience away from the Huntington Beach crowds

Eight of us had delicious dinners at a large round table outside...delightful! The waiter was extremely attentive and although it was expensive night out, we all agreed it was worth it...

We ate dinner here. It has the same motif as the one in Waikiki. Service was good. We had fresh fish that was not cheap and a little overcooked.

For the signature restaurant at the hotel, it is surprisingly lack luster in quality and options. Good to Pete's Grill instead. Similar food but a lot less expensive. Food came out warm or cold and needed to be sent back. Requests for omitting ingredients (tomato garnish for example) were noted and ignored by staff.

The Californian has excellent choices for dinner especially if you're trying to stay health-oriented. The beef tenderloin and sauteed spinach was delicious; the service is A+, sitting outside with heat lamps in the right place made the evening perfect. The next morning we enjoyed their Breakfast Buffet that displayed a grand assortment of choices.....French Toast was my choice and the... More

I heard good reviews about this restaurant. Even though I was not a guest at the Hyatt, I still thought I would explore this restaurant . I was pleased that I did. The food was very good. It was not elaborate, but, classic ,casual American cuisine. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I spent 3 days for our anniversary at the Hyatt. Our first night we ate dinner at the Californian which is located on the property. I was a little skeptical since it was on the property and figured food was average and service lacking... Wow was I wrong! We had a wonderful hostess (Megan) who greeted us... More

Poor service, poor selection, not enough food to keep a bird alive let alone feed a healthy 150 lb woman. Waiter disappeared as soon as he dumped our food at the table so he didn't have to explain why the food was not what was advertised. Had to go find a real restaurant (BJs Brewpub) to get good food and... More

We had a $50 off $100 coupon from restaurant.com (paid $8 for it), otherwise would have been out of my price range. They even included the alcohol towards the $100 required to be spent, many places do not. Food was excellent and wait staff very attentive and engaging. Asked for a seat outside by firepit with distant view of the... More

My wife and I NEVER, NEVER eat in a hotel-located restaurant more than once during a stay. Too many times over the years, we've had a good/great meal once, but more than once -- it was never the same. The Californian restaurant was worth all THREE visits (during a 4 day stay). The food and staff was wonderful. The food... More
