With all of the chain restaurants on Main St. In HB it's nice to see a mom and pop place thriving. It was a busiest place to eat on Main St. When we asked our hotel where we should eat on Main, a The Sugar Shack was the unanimous choice.

We grabbed breakfast here. The food was good, nothing great, but it was breakfast. The place was packed... I should have ordered sardines.

Lipstick on the coffee mugs, sitting outside by the smelly dumpsters, can't taste anything in the food, worse than Denny's, just a habitual meeting place, skip it unless you are meeting up w/peeps who are habitual, or need a a place to to get together. Basically food does not taste like anything, that should give you a heads up, but... More

Great place for a brunch. Atmosphere can be in back yard or front outside sitting. Like people watching while enjoying a bite sit outside front. Open only for breakfast and lunch. Simple food nothing fancy.

If you're lucky enough to get an outside table on main st., please go for it! You won't be sorry you had to wait. The food is yummy and the servers friendly. We like to go on Sunday after church and watch the parade of cars idle by so they can be seen. The breakfast is very good too

This place rocks...coffee, service, location and most of all...the French toast!!! Went there three days out of five on vacay and got the Bfst Spcl. with F.T. ...couldn't resist it was THAT good. They have oatmeal if you "wanna eat healthy".

The food is good but if my wife would cook breakfast for me, which is never, I would probably enjoy a home cooked meal more. You come here because this is one of the last remaining Southern California beach cities hangouts. There are surfers, wanna-be surfers, beach bums and beach bunnies, hanging with middle aged greying business men in Hawaiian... More

I'm a local in HB and LOVE the Sugar Shack. There's always a wait on the weekends, but it's worth the wait. If the front is crowded, check the back patio. There are separate lists for the front and back seating areas. The back patio is larger, so odds are better to get a seat faster there. Everything on the... More

We went here after reading about it on trip advisor. Cheap breakfast, but not the best thing if you're used to eating clean and healthy (even if you order something that should be healthy) . Portions were big, but the food wasn't great. People watching was definitely better than the food. Recommend Jan's over this place in a heartbeat.

Looking for a breakfast spot while driving through Huntington Beach and stumbled upon this gem! The cafe seemed packed and I didn't think I would get a seat, I wondered into the "bar" area that was occupied by two gentlemen. I figured this would be my best bet, as I was in hurry. Waitress was attentive and service was great.... More
