We visited the Sugar Shack several times during our stay in Huntington Beach, and were never disappointed. We stumbled across Michele's Sugar Shack while exploring Huntington Beach. Best find in a really long time. We came back every morning we were in town. We recommended to friends... Best place to eat breakfast in Huntington Beach AND this area of So. Calif. Worth the wait, and there will be a wait. But, don't be deterred as what seems like could take an hour to wait, may take only 15-20 minutes. Make sure to go thru restaurant to back patio area where tables seem to open quicker. You can't be in a hurry, or the wait will ruin your experience. But the locals eat here. Those on vacation quickly figure out this is where to catch a nice laid back breakfast. The food is very good. Saw all these reviews and thought it would be great but was kind of disappointed. Ate inside, hotter than hades, food acceptable, but i grew up in hermosa, manhattan beach, used to beach breakfast houses....this is NOT one of those. more like a glorified Dennys...also very cramped inside or out. more

We walked to the Sugar Shack every day for breakfast while we were visiting HB. We definitely recommend arriving early and sitting out front-service is better than in courtyard! The local diners were charming and the menu variety fit our tastes. more
