Consistently great value, generous portions, healthy options, friendly service. What a small town cafe should be!
After crossing the valley from Mendocino to 101, we stopped for lunch at this welcoming roadside cafe. The kind of place where the waitresses call you "Hon" yet wine is on the menu. Decent burgers, decent fries, It's a step back into the past and most welcomed by the weary traveler.
Great little restaurant in a smaal town. Deffinitely stop when you go through. The club sandwich is the I have ever had. Don't forget to leave room for their home made pie.
For breakfast it was expensive. But personally, I loved the charm if the place and the apple French toast was great. My mom had pancakes and she was not happy.
Stopped in at the Bluebird Cafe on the way to California. What a delightful restaurant. The atmosphere is cute and quirky. The food was very tasty and satisfying; fresh salad, crispy golden fries and yummy burgers. We'll definitely stop in again on our next trip.
Great little cafe. Pleasant service - great food - fast service ...highly recommend !! We had a variety of food - all good.
Home-baked variety of the best pies anywhere! this is a perfect stop between San Francisco and upstate CA. The pies have a flaky crust, juicy fresh fruit, and a delicate balance of textures and flavors. I can't say enough about the in-house cooking. The retro diner atmosphere is homey and welcoming. Everyone there was a local - they know a... More
There are a number of jewels of the oft-overlooked inland Mendocino county that you should learn of. This is our usual lunch stop between Arcata and San Jose, and it did not disappoint. Friend had the elk burger - drier than regular hamburger. We had the BLT- generous amount of thick, crisp bacon, tomato, and non-soggy lettuce on thick sourdough. And had enough room for a slice of homemade raspberry-peach pie. Advice: start with pie, and maybe... More
We stopped at this place totally on a lark while driving through Northern California. We were hungry and it looked like a place that would be good, so we stopped. We were not disappointed. This place is a classic local dinette type joint. There is a lunch counter and tables, you can see into the kitchen, and they specialize in... More
