So the name is a bit misleading, this isn't really a cafe, more of a lakeside lodge/ restaurant. The staff were friendly and polite and the place itself is really nice. We booked a table there on a Saturday evening, after a day skiing at Homewood. The menu looked good and the food arrived and was well presented and ok,... More

"Café" does not do this place justice. It is an beautiful room with incredible views of Lake Tahoe. We visited on back-to-back days while our kids were snowboarding across the street at Homewood. Duck confit cannelloni in an onion jus was rich and comforting, but the highlight was the Mountain Mule (a Moscow Mule with fig and thyme). The next... More

We were looking for a small restaurant for a simple meal and were surprised by the offerings. My wife's hamburger was one of the best we have tasted and the cioppino was just right with large scallops, halibut, shrimp and mussels. A definite return.

I mentioned to the front desk going in that my experience has been the better the view the poorer the food. It was put down as a challenge since they have a great view of Lake Tahoe.. My lunch dish of spicy shrimp was fantastic, and with my spicy Bloody Mary....I was in heaven. I would happily go back and... More

Stopped in for an après ski snack and drink. Staff was very friendly. Service was efficient and of course the view of the lake was marvelous.

We stopped by the West Shore Cafe on a whim as we drove around Lake Tahoe. We are glad we did. Don't let the term "cafe" surprise you. This is an mid-range to upscale restaurant. The dishes have interesting flavor combinations which we found enjoyable. The presentation is also different. For instance, a custard dessert we ordered arrived in a... More

Have gone here since the first season, then it fell apart in 2008-2010 with turnover of chefs, servers and finally the place was sold. There were nights that we were the only two people there. At our dinner in September, service from poor Ryan was spotty. (part his fault and part management) I mean if you're going to serve $100+... More

Right on Lake Tahoe, it has one of the best views I have ever seen. The food here is excellent, and the staff is very nice. Drinks here are very good as well, and the place is super nice and well designed. A little bit pricey.

We have had lunch at West Shore on previous occasions and this is the first review. The food is In the acceptable range. I had the fish and chips, with sweet potato fries. The fish was not as fried and bready as other fish and chips, so I would say you give it a try. At least this year when... More
