All home-baked cakes and pastries, fresh every morning at 6.00am, we are told. A wide choice of regular and specialised coffees. Food and beverages al at very reasonable prices. Polite and efficient service. Choose to sit in the shade inside or under the canopies in the fresh air. (Beware - the local pigeons are partial to the pastries and cheesecakes... More

This used to be our favorite place for a coffee break on our morning bike ride in the weekends; I say used to be because I do not believe we will be returning there soon. Initially this place stood out from all points of views: menu, service and atmosphere. However in the past year we’ve noticed a constant decline which... More

Small cafe on the pedestrian mall. Great food, wonderful pastries, nice ambiance, outside seating makes you feel part of the action. Great for breakfast or lunch.

Being from Montreal my expectation for a good croissant is quite high. My wife walked down to the pier one morning while vacationing and discovered this little cafe. She returned with the best almond filled croissant I have ever eaten. It was so fresh and buttery good! We returned for other pastries while we were in HB, never disappointed. Everything... More

On our last day in Hermosa Beach we were looking for a quick and easy breakfast in a sunny spot. Cafe Bonaparte had all of the right things on the menu for the 4 of us while we sat on the patio to enjoy the sunshine. We ordered a chocolate croissant, a ham and egg breakfast sandwhich, the granola with... More

During our girls weekend in Hermosa, we found this gem our first morning. We at there for breakfast every morning. It had beautiful outdoor seating. Over the course of our trip, we had their omlettes, fruit dishes, bagels, muffins, and pastries. We were not disappointed any morning. Fantastic breakfast cafe!

The breakfast omelettes are delicious. Always fresh baked goods, and great service from the owner and staff.

Anyone giving less than a glowing review of this place is delusional, and not to be trusted! The espresso and cappuccino is splendid, pastries simply sinful. (The croissants make a mockery of mere mortal bakeries) Have a bowl of berries, and your socks--if you're wearing any--will be officially knocked off by their tangy freshness. Sit outside and watch the world... More

And I have been to France! This place is so quaint and has the best baked goods. The coffee was just average but the croissants and muffins were amazing.

Not sure why they are on Pier Plaza but they have great stuff! They also serve sandwiches that are quite tastey.
