This place was one of our favorites with very good value and quality throughout the inland empire in the 1980's. We visited a few months ago and found the quality has gone down and the prices are way up and now equal to a good steak house. Just memories left in this place...

I think this is the best steakhouse in the Hemet area. First, the food is very good and the steaks flavorful and hearty. Side dishes are good too. I can't think of any other place around Hemet/San Jacinto that would have better ranch style food. I like the atmosphere because it is ranch style small town decor rather than some... More

This is my sons favorite steak place. Got the ribs the last 2 times and had plenty to take home. I have never left and felt that we have not got our monies worth. Place could use a little PLC but not anything that keeps us away! All steaks are good and bake potatos are large.

Over the years since I moved to Hemet in 1996, I have tried to give Steer N Stein second, third, fourth, etc., chances to improve on their food and service. Every extra chance I have given them has turned out to be worse than it's predecessors. Their food is still awful, their service is still mediocre, their atmosphere still has... More

Whenever we don’t feel like cooking, want to eat local, and in the mood for a great steak, it’s always here that we end up! We love the sautéed mushroom appetizer and we share the plank steak. We always receive excellent service, food cooked exactly as ordered and it doesn’t kill the wallet. Great local place for dinner!

This is where we go when we want a good steak for a good price. Onion rings are outstanding. Great family atmosphere, the kids like it. It's not a quiet romantic setting, it's a serious hunk of meat eating place.

If your in the mood for steak, this is the best place in town. While the service is not always friendly, the food is consistently spectacular. On our last visit, everything was great. The server was efficient, but not intrusive. The food (pepper steak and steak with fried shrimp) arrived quickly, hot, and delicious. This restaurant can be a great... More

Steer 'n Stein is a Hemet mainstay, who's rustic character and tasty food have contributed to its longevity. I've eaten here many times - lunch and dinner - and the food is always very good and served piping hot. It can get busy, particularly on Friday evenings and on the weekends, so keep that in mind. In character with the... More

Steer'n Stein restaurant is one of the oldest and most popular restaurants in Hemet. Don't let the location fool you. While it is not located in a stand alone location, customers in Hemet and for anyone who has been here at least once know that, for great steak with all the trimmings, you just cannot beat the Steer'n and Stein.... We've been there twice. The 1st it was santastic. Nice and tender prime rib dinner. Kinda dark and a little outdated but we had no complaints. 2nd time it was average. Probably a different chef. I dunno. It tasted good though though. All in all, we had a nice dinner both times. It was pretty busy both times so people... More
