Good Place to Gather Items for a Wine Country Picnic

We visited Oakville Grocery. It is by the Healdsburg Plaza Park area. There are a variety of food goods for sell. Many are just perfect for a wine country picnic. There is a cheese bar, olive bar, prepared salad deli, dessert area, breads and olive oil, and so forth. Prices are higher... read more

The Oakville Grocery is a delightful, but expensive little grocery/deli with a wonderful selection of large sandwich choices - The fabulous Fried Chicken Sandwich and the warm, melty cheese, pickle & pork Cubano Sandwich are our favorites! We browsed the incredible selection of gourmet sauces, mustards, jams, etc. for hostess gifts while waiting. And the miniature jars of olive oil,... More

This is a great place to get an artisan sandwich and but local wine. They also have a great selection of cheese and other condiments ...great selection and an olive bar. I could have stayed there all afternoon.

It isn't really a market, but a cheese shop/deli with sandwiches you can order. The sandwiches were pricey and didn't come with sides i.e. a salad, potato salad. It was a la carte. i thought I'd at least get some deli meat to make my own sandwich, the salami was about $30 a pound. The lady behind the counter suggested... More

Our party ordered two sandwiches and salads from the deli. The Reuben was very small and greasy while the turkey sandwich was on a sourdough roll that was very dry. In addition I believe that there was one slice of turkey on the sandwich. Didn't come close to being worth what we paid. Probably won't return.

We bought our picnic food items there. Great selection of cheeses and meats. Pre-made salads, roasted veggies were excellent. Try the kale or chicken salad. I loved the gluten free pastry options: Highly recommend the cocoa nibs bites, donut muffins, and german chocolate cake muffins. All gluten free. Delicious.

The four of us arrived in Healdsburg for our annual visit just before noon and as we always do, headed straight for the Oakville Grocery Co. We always visit mid-week between the Wine Road/Barrel Tasting Weekends as it’s the best way to avoid the crazy crowds that overwhelm the area on the two weekends. We’ve found over the years that... Fantastic croissant with fried egg, bacon and cheese. Be sure and also get side order of bacon. Best I've ever had.

We typically eat here or in the Yountville original whenever we come to town. Nice selection of local wines & foods.

This is just one of those things where the history of the place is so interesting, that you need to go... even if you don't buy anything. I mean, founded in 1881, it's the oldest continually operating grocery store in California. That's pretty impressive. Besides, you pass it on the way to a lot of the wineries. This particular location... More
