Upscale in Hayward

Neumanali is tucked away in a quiet downtown area just steps from Hayward City Hall. Its a little pricey, but worth it when you simply don't have the time or inclination to drive to SF or Berkeley for a fine meal. The inside is a restored Victorian house that is very cozy and warm. I ate here recently with my wife and some family members we were visiting. I had the scallops and they were wonderful. cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. I forget what salad I ordered, but that also was very good. someone else at the table also had the scallops and was also delighted with them. My wife, however, ordered the... More

Three of us had an outstanding dinner here. Easy to find and the service was perfect. I had the scallops and I think they were the best that I have ever had. One of the others had the pork chop - it was huge and he also thought perfect. The lighting is a little dark but we all laughed with... More

I have been there a few times with a group of friends. their food is well prepared and wines are extremely reasonably priced. If you like pork chop -- the really good ones, this is one of the two places in the bay area you should try. The mushroom (side order/appetizer) is very well made. East bay has some good... More

I never thought i'll find a fine dining restaurant in Hayward. Place is so classy. Lighting is perfect for its ambience. Very romantic for a couple. I love the architectural building converting and preserving it and made it to a nice place to dine. Food is so good. I loved everything, from starters to entree to desserts. And the choice... More

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in Hayward; the location in a renovated Victorian sets a sense of style and elegance not found in many locations. The food (we started with salads - I had the house mix and my friend had the Caesar salad; the entre' - I had chicken with tomatoes and Kalamata olives and... More

Business dinner here. The food and service is outstanding! Seafood dishes are very good and well executed. Small restaurant but very good for that special dinner.

Received gift of dinner and tickets to local theater. Apparently local rec department arranges these nights. Dinner was planned serving foods of the time the play was set in. I have not eaten there except for this special occasion. Dinner was served family style which is just loads of fun, if you haven't tried it. I understand they do this... More

Not many upscale choices in Hayward. We enjoyed the quiet and comfortable and softly lighted room. A wide range of menu options made it hard to choose. Prices are very reasonable, portions generous. We had scallops at their best, top quality steak done as ordered and very well prepared trout. Traditional food with an up to date spin. Like being... More
